SCHOOL CURRICULA AND PROGRAMS
The Lebanese American School was established in 1992. The name reflects the presence of the two systems of education available at the school: the Lebanese and American curricula.
The L.A.S. follows the Lebanese and American system of education from Nursery to Grade 12 (High School), which is equivalent to the Lebanese Baccalaureate.
L.A.S considers English and Arabic the primary languages taught in school, though English is the primary language for those exempted from the Lebanese curriculum. The school also offers elective courses in French and German, as well as Arabic for foreigners or expatriates enrolled in the American Curriculum.
LEBANESE CURRICULUM
The Lebanese curriculum prepares the enrolled students to pass the Lebanese official exams of Brevet and Bacc. II, exams in which L.A.S students have always achieved a 100% success rate. The school also provides The Lebanese curriculum students with certain parts of the advanced American curriculum, such as practice in SAT and Toefl, which provides our students with a marked advantage in their university applications and future careers.
AMERICAN CURRICULUM
The American curriculum was prepared specifically for foreign students and Lebanese students returning to Lebanon. L.A.S provides instruction in college level entrance exams such as SAT and TOEFL and IELTS as part of the curriculum from grades 9 till 12, in addition to special Arabic appropriate to students’ abilities and needs.
Special Education Program at L.A.S
Every student can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way. ''George Evans''
LAS believes that each and every child is special, with unique combinations of needs and abilities that affect the process of learning. This is the reason why, LAS embraces a special education department which provides a healthy, social, emotional, intellectual, and social ambiance for special kids with special needs.
Our special education department welcomes students who need either modified or special programs.
These sessions target the students' weaknesses in certain subjects and help them advance in a pace that suits their abilities.
All classes are given by qualified and experienced special education teachers.
Students who mainly benefit from special programs are those with learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysortographia, dysphasia, dys…), ADHD ( Attention Deficiency and Hyper activity Disorder) , ADD ( Attention Deficiency Disorder) , and selected cases of students with Autism(cases that can be integrated in a regular school ).
E-LEARNING:
After the 2019 coronavirus pandemic, the LAS still remains keen on making its teaching efforts hold their high academic results. Thus, it’s integration with online teaching is crucial.
The school is subscribed to an internet service that ensures the fluidity of its information transferal.
RANKING IN LEBANON
Out of 1400 private schools in Lebanon, the LAS is ranked amongst the first of a list that includes 77 best schools of Lebanon.
THE ARIZONA - L.A.S PARTNERSHIP
Born from our belief in the need to achieve the utmost academic privileges for our students, the Lebanese American School initiated a partnership with the ASU. The mentioned partnership provides the chance of studying one of its courses (Prep Digital) in the LAS. Were students interested in pursuing their major in ASU, said course credits (of Prep Digital) would be later on registered as completed from within the LAS.
FINAL ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I have been teaching at this school since 2008, and it consistently provides a warm, safe, and inclusive environment for both students and staff. The school genuinely takes students’ individual needs into account, with their well-being always treated as a top priority. The teaching team is kind, supportive, and highly professional, fostering a positive learning atmosphere. This strong educational and pastoral approach is reflected in the students’ excellent SAT and official exam results.

This is my son’s first year at this school, and at the beginning I was very worried about how he would adapt and whether he might feel lonely, especially as he has special needs and had to leave his previous school where he had been enrolled since early childhood. The LAS school team provided outstanding support and understanding. They helped contain his feelings, supported his emotional adjustment, and made him feel safe and included. They also acknowledged my concerns as a parent, which gave me great reassurance. I am truly grateful for the care, compassion, and professionalism shown toward my son and our family.

This school was more than a place of learning, it was my second home. Within its walls, I found friends who became family and teachers who constantly believed in me, encouraged me, and pushed me to grow. The sense of belonging and support I experienced here shaped me in ways I will always be grateful for.
