Job Summary

At the Section Astrodynamics and Space missions we are offering a position for a Lecturer to support the demand for education from a growing number of students and to further develop our educational portfolio. The lecturer will be responsible for the execution of selected educational activities in the BSc and MSc program. An integral part of the task is to supervise MSc students in their literature studies and master theses work. We are seeking candidates that have a good knowledge and understanding of at least one of the following domains in astrodynamics and space missions: definition and design of new space missions (Earth-bound and/or solar system), satellite trajectories, space situational awareness and/or space debris.

Requirements

You must have an MSc degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Physics, preferably with a focus on Spaceflight and proven educational experience, preferably at university level. You are enthusiastic about teaching and you can inspire students. You are known for the excellent quality of your work. You are eager to learn more about our educational system and are willing to contribute to develop that further. Your educational experience will stem from responsible educational activities in the BSc and/or MSc program. You are in possession of an educational qualification. You have the necessary academic skills and knowledge to be able to supervise MSc students in their master theses work. It is not required that you hold a PhD degree. You are a well-organised, goal-oriented, accurate and open-minded team player. Excellent communication skills are expected. A good command of spoken and written English is required.

Conditions of employment

2 years contract with subsequent prospect of a permanent appointment in case of meeting all function requirements. TU Delft offers a customization compensation package, a discount for health insurance and sport memberships, and a monthly work costs contribution.
