Harker’s tuition includes before- and after-school care, lunch and most school expenses, such as our intercampus shuttle between our three campuses, yearbooks, local field trips, athletic uniforms, etc. Non-tuition expenses include laptops, which are required for middle and upper school students, and textbooks. Additional costs families may encounter are for specific activity choices such as a particular after-school activity or elective travel trips for specific extracurricular activities.

Tuition Assistance

For students enrolled in K-12

We recognize the cost of an independent school education is a considerable investment and each family’s ability to meet tuition costs will vary. We encourage families who have a need and believe Harker may be a good fit to consider applying for financial assistance. Financial assistance awards are based on need (no merit or athletic scholarships are awarded), and we work with families to help make a Harker education affordable for them. The financial assistance application process is independent from the admission application process, though the two must be done simultaneously if a family anticipates needing aid.

Tuition Assistance Process

  • Request assistance application packet from Harker by emailing fainfo@harker.org.
  • Submit necessary documents to SSS (School and Student Services), a third party organization who reviews your family’s financial information.
  • The financial assistance committee reviews the recommendation from SSS for family contribution and financial assistance awards. Award notifications are communicated to accepted students at the same time as the accepted decision notification, in mid-March.
  • Harker grants an award for the difference between the family’s contribution and the cost of tuition. Many factors contribute to the determination of each family’s financial aid award. We welcome any questions you may have about the financial aid process.
