Financial Support

The Knox School Financial Aid assessment process ensures that available funds are best used to promote the school’s objectives and mission. Knox is proud to offer need-based financial aid to those students with a demonstrated financial need.

When considering an independent education for their child, families should expect to contribute to the cost of tuition at the highest possible level based on their current economic situation. Knox offers need-based financial aid, which is determined by a family’s demonstrated need and the merit of the applicant, which is determined by the Knox Admissions Committee. To fairly and objectively determine a family’s demonstrated need and make financial aid decisions, Knox subscribes to SSS By NAIS, a third party financial aid assessment organization. Knox School Code is 4423.

Financial Aid Process

Step One

Visit: www.sss.nais.org on or after November 1.

Step Two

Click on the prompt to begin your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). You only have to complete one PFS even if you have several children applying to The Knox School, or if you are applying to more than one independent school. You don’t have to complete the form in one sitting. You will be given a password so you can save your PFS and return to finish it at any time.

Step Three

You will receive instructions about submitting the required backup documents. Your documents will be handled with the highest level of security. To read more about SSS’s document security, visit: sss.nais.org

Financial Aid Determination

Once a family submits a financial application, SSS By NAIS provides a third party assessment and estimate of how much a family can contribute to the cost of a Knox School education. This figure and estimate provides a basis in determining financial need. The Knox School Financial Aid Committee receives a Financial Assessment from SSS By NAIS and uses this report, along with a family’s tax returns to calculate a financial aid award. In determining a financial aid award the Financial Aid Committee will look at each application on an individual and case-by-case basis taking into account extenuating circumstances.

Financial Aid Calendar & Important Dates
