All fee payers are required to provide a Direct Debit Authority for payment of their account, choosing either ten monthly or four termly payments. Tuition and Boarding fees are billed as four instalments (being January, March, June and September). The Direct Debit will collect the balance on the account on the 20th of the month unless a 10-month payment plan is in place. Direct Debits run from February to November each year.
Full Year in Advance Discount
Payment of fees in full by 16 December will be entitled to a 2% credit on the net fee. Once full payment is received a 2% credit will be applied to the account. A direct debit is required for payment of the incidental charges each month. Please contact finance no later than 10 December for advance invoicing by emailing finance@scotscollege.school.nz
Sibling Discount
A 10% Sibling discount applies to the tuition of the younger siblings where second and subsequent child/children concurrently attend the College. The discount will not be appliable once the elder student has left the College. Sibling discount does not apply to boarding fees, Incidentals, or where one child in the family is awarded a scholarship or Education Fees Protection Subsidy.
Application fee $160 per student
A non-refundable fee payable at the time of submitting your application to cover administration costs.
Acceptance Fee $500 per student
Is confirmation of acceptance of an offer of a place. This fee is non-refundable, and payment is required to secure your enrolment.
Leavers Bond - $1000 per student
Bonds are to be paid prior to a student commencing at the College. Any Bonds that have not been paid at that point are charged to the student’s College account. Bonds do not incur interest and are only refunded in full once all accounts are settled after a student’s departure from the College.
Scots Foundation Annual Levy – $150 per family
The role of the Foundation is to ensure the long-term sustainability of the College and to provide a vehicle by which the College can remain accessible to a wide range of students. This levy is charged to support Scots College’s future capital projects, and other philanthropic activity. This fee is payable by all families with a student that attends during the academic year and is not pro rated or refunded for partial year attendance.
Parents’ Association Annual Levy - $69 per family
This levy supports Parent led activities for families and students. This levy is payable by all students who attend during the academic year and is not prorated or refunded for partial year attendance.
Scots Collegians Association Levy - $100 per student
The Scots Collegians Association key role is to connect the Alumni of Scots College and to proactively engage with its alumni Community. This levy supports our ongoing interaction and activities for all our students when they move on from the College, this levy is payable by all students who attend during the academic year and is not prorated or refunded for partial year attendance.
Overdue Accounts Penalties
Will be charged on overdue account balances, at a rate of up to 10%. If fees remain unpaid with no approved payment arrangement in place, Scots College reserves the right to refuse continued enrolment at the school and/or removal of any applicable discounts or scholarships. Any fees outstanding may be passed onto a debt collection agency, for which the fee payer will be responsible for any associated costs incurred.
Requirements around Notice of Withdrawal
At least a full term’s notice in writing must be given to the College should a student be withdrawn from the College, the Boarding House (if applicable) or any activity or arrangement for which a charge is made. If the notice required as outlined above is not given, parents/caregivers will be liable for the payment of fees for the following term. In all cases notice of withdrawal is required in writing, addressed to the Principal or Headmaster.
