Llechyfedach School

Llechyfedach school is a Welsh medium primary school catering for pupils from 3-11 years. We are very proud of the pupils at Llechyfedach School. Every year we have many visitors to the school and frequently they make comments about how well our pupils behave and how courteous they are. The school is proud of its reputation for concern for the individual child, both in terms of welfare and educational provision.

The facilities and extended learning opportunities offered at Llechyfedach School are excellent and the many activities offered to the pupils ensure that they become effective lifelong learners.

We encourage and take pride in the close co-operation between home and school. Without the involvement of parents, our task is that much more difficult and less enjoyable. We hope that you will take a close interest in what your child is doing in school and will encourage learning and its importance in later life.

AIMS:

• To create a happy school environment that will promote the intellectual emotional, physical and spiritual development of each child to the maximum of his/her potential.
• Promote in each child the motivation to learn and enhance his/her knowledge.
• Provide opportunities for each child to develop to his/her full potential through varied, interesting and relevant experiences.
• Promote self-respect and respect for others as well as the development of positive attitudes and values.
• To ensure that all children have access to a wide and balanced curriculum.
• To develop language skills in its variety of forms, to enable the children to communicate effectively. This includes speaking and listening, reading and writing.
• To develop effective skills, knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts.
• Promote in each child an awareness and appreciation of the community, our language and traditions as well as the environment.
• Promote an awareness in children of the need for personal hygiene, appearance, manners, moral values and good behaviour.
• Promote close links and partnerships between the school, the home and the community.
