Lucas Kunene

My name is Lucas Kunene and I reside in Johannesburg, South Africa. My career as lecturer dates back for several years. First, I was employed as an environmental health practitioner by the City of Johannesburg where apart from my routine and  management work I had an opportunity to lecture on part-time basis to Medical Students at Wits University on issues relating to medical waste, general domestic waste management, sanitation, vectors of diseases, vector-borne diseases just to name a few examples. I continued with lecturing at the University of Johannesburg when I was a Masters Student. I lectured to Environmental Health students on Management, Project Management, Waste Mnagement, Community Development, Environmental Health and Occupational Health and Safety, Legislation and Policy. I also did a lot of training at non-government institutions such as Old Age Homes, Orphanages etc. Training evolved around handling, preparation and storage of food including personnel hygiene and general upkeep of premises. Principles on Best practiices covered issues such as HACCP  and ISO 301 on hygiene and managing of food premises

.I am in possession of a National Diploma in Health Inspection, BA degree in Public Administration, Hon. degree in Urban Studies, Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Education, Certificate in Disaster Management obtained in Indonesia and Masters Degree in Environmental Health. I am at present a registered a PhD student in Public Health at the University of Cape Town.

My passion and strongest link is in teaching and or training/lecturing with the aim of sharing, transferring knowledge and in the transforming and development of future generations globally. It would be appreciated if I could be afforded the opportunity to achieve and realise this objective.
