Job Summary

The job incumbent shall be responsible for overseeing the process of collecting and documenting requests for new payments channels from BUs/FUs, and develop BRSDs that best suit their needs and specifications. He shall also be responsible for spotting gaps and weakness in the current Payment Channels and analyse potential improvements or potential changes on contractual agreement where needed. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Payment Channels Department plans in line with the corporate objectives.
  • Directs and manages the Payment Channels Development Section mandates, providing leadership and facilitating work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
  • Interprets and implements change in the Payment Channels Development Section providing guidance and support, necessary for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in the Payment Channels Development Section.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Identifies business units need in terms of payment solutions, understand, analyse their requirements, and provide input to develop sound and reliable payment strategy.
  • Manages the process of collecting and documenting requests for new payments channels from BUs/FUs, and develop BRSDs that best suit STC needs and specifications.
  • Follows-up closely with the IT for the development of the approved BRSD requirements and to ensure all business specifications are designed to fulfil BUs requirements, and oversee the process of piloting newly designed payment channels.
  • Works closely with BU’s ,FU’s and IT to set up financial requirements with bank
  • Manages the process of initiating and drafting contracts for newly approved payment channels with service provider, and ensure all technical and on an operational aspects are covered.
  • Manages relationships between internal and external parties about payments services.
  • Responds immediately to partners affecting service problems or failures in order to minimize their effects on customers, and to invoke the resolution of the service, or provide an alternate service as soon as possible.
  • Spots gaps and weakness in the current Payment Channels and analyse potential improvements or potential changes on contractual agreement based on the assessment of the quality of service through performance reports on a monthly basis.

People Management Responsibilities:

  • Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective application of the STC performance management process.
  • Directs planning and selection of manpower in the Payment Channels, Development Section, in line with the business and operational plans.
  • Ensures high level of employee engagement and capability development by providing on-going feedback and coaching team members within the Payment Channels Development Section.

Performs other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Director of Payment Channels in order to meet sector objectives.

Qualifications/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance.
  • Relevant certifications such as CMA are preferred.

Years of Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Nature of Experience

  • Prior experience in a financial management role, in a large-scale consumer service oriented industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Payment Channels Development.

  • Practical know how of drafting BRSDs.
  • Ability to spot gaps and weaknesses in the current payment systems.
  • Excellent follow up and supervisory skills.

  • Good command of written and spoken English essential.
