Mayespark is a Good school where all children are inspired to achieve their best. All the staff and governors work together to ensure that children are safe, happy and learning. We take pride in celebrating the rich diversity of our families and value learning from each other. “Pupils are confident, interested and interesting young people who think deeply about their learning, their school and their lives.”

Our learning places the whole child at its center. We are ambitious and inclusive and believe in every child’s right to be successful. This belief underpins every aspect of school life and, working in partnership with our stakeholders, drives all that we do. “Mayespark is a warm, friendly and nurturing place for pupils, parents, careers and staff. Mayespark is a safe and happy community”

We want to ensure that all our children and parents feel safe whilst at school. Parents, careers and visitors should only enter the school building via the school office in the main entrance. Parents and careers are also reminded that if problems occur between children these should be reported to a senior member of staff. It is never acceptable for a parent to approach someone else’s child in the playground. Senior staff are in the playground every day before and after school to help.

The School’s Education Welfare Officer visits  the school every week during the term and checks the school’s attendance register. If any child is absent from the school on a regular basis, is frequently late, or has a number of unauthorized absences, the Education Welfare Officer may decide that an interview with the parents is necessary. Regular school attendance at school is vital, is expected and required by law. Pupils need to attend regularly if they are to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them. Parents of pupils at Mayespark have a legal duty to send their children to school regularly and ensure that they arrive on time. Children who are late will miss important parts of their learning and cause disruption to the rest of the class.
