Welcome to Methodist College Kuala Lumpur. A college where values and tradition meet excellence in education

For over 39 years, Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) has been providing quality, holistic education in the best of Methodist tradition, while providing a safe environment for a purposeful learning experience. To meet the demands of an ever rapidly changing world, MCKL fully embraces the challenges and opportunities of educating and preparing students for further education, professional development and job careers.

Since its inception in 1983, the Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) was founded by the Methodist Council of Education. Our campus is strategically established in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

MCKL’s guiding philosophy is focused on delivering excellent and quality education, which ultimately serves its purposes as an institution for society. As educators, we strive for a caring and nurturing environment through transformative learning and teaching practices, along with upskilling extra-curricular activities. MCKL continues to deliver and build knowledge, skills and attitude to enhance the competency of each individual thus leading to job security in the modern workforce.

Over the years MCKL has been highly recognised for its track record and gold standard achievements of its pre-university and undergraduate programmes, while also being a platinum approved learning partner of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

In 2022, MCKL aims to launch its inaugural branch campus – MCKL College (Penang, Pykett campus), to provide greater higher education opportunities and alternative pathways for secondary school leavers and adult learners in the northern region in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0).

Our mission is to nurture a community where excellence, in all its forms is celebrated and where individuals will make extraordinary differences in the world with strong moral character and academic achievement. The institution seeks to produce quality students who will transform into respectable role models for generations to come, contributing to the advancement of their community in line with MCKL’s vision of being “The Institution of Excellence for Life”

MCKL provides a conducive environment for a purposeful learning experience. Our lecturers are well qualified and are highly regarded by students and alumni for their commitment and willingness to go beyond their ordinary call of duty. The close-knit community in MCKL promotes a thriving network for MCKL students, staff and alumni from diverse backgrounds.

We live in a fast-changing world, with innovation across industries happening at lightning pace to cope with demands of the cyberworld and the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) which has impacted societies, the workplace, and careers.

MCKL fully embraces the challenges and opportunities of educating and preparing students for further education, professional development and job careers in the new IR 4.0 environment. Future jobs will require the use of technology, cloud-based application systems and the ability to digitally collaborate and network with teams within and outside an organisation. At MCKL, we endeavour to embed these skills in the academic programmes and learning experiences of the students, in line with our wider vision of “MCKL 4.0: Excellence for Life” of providing a holistic education to produce well-rounded individuals.

MCKL continues to emphasise on knowledge, skills and attitude through the curriculum offered. Students would be able to enhance their critical thinking skills and competency in their educational field leading to job security, allowing them the opportunity to elevate themselves academically and beyond in their further studies or the workforce.

At MCKL, we aim to nurture high-achieving individuals of calibre who will become passionate and compassionate leaders in society by embedding the MCKL DNA in each student through various extra-curricular activities, community service learning and character formation.

It was a great one and a half year studying here. Lecturers here are inspiring and helpful. They’re willing to spend time to answer questions after class. Also, I met some of my greatest friends here! Thinking back, it was a right choice coming to MCKL for my A-levels.

I have 3 sons, all of whom enrolled in MCKL to do their A-Levels. As a parent, I am very happy indeed with their progress and achievements. Without the dedicated support of their lecturers and other extremely helpful staff in MCKL, this would not be possible. Thank you MCKL and thank you to all teachers and support staff - in the University Placement Office as well - you know who you are. May God Bless all of you and may MCKL soar to even greater heights in the future.

I studied here under the AUSMAT programme and truth be told, it was pretty fun and I definitely had a good time here. It is relatively cheap and the college is very generous when it comes to scholarships. The lecturers are kind and helpful and will always agree to provide guidance in your studies.

I am currently studying ACCA Professional Level as a full-timer student. I have found MCKL to be a reputable college (having studied externally at another uni, and on campus at another uni). A relative small college with bunch of professional caring lecturers and staffs. Thank you MCKL for developing my learning capability through discussions, role plays, and modelings.
