Founded in 2003, MILE is a bilingual school, offering the Italian and the Cambridge curriculums. We welcome children from 12 months old in our nursery to age 14 in Lower Secondary. We are a paritaria school, officially recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR), both for Primary and Lower Secondary. All subjects are taught in both languages in order to provide a solid academic platform that allows our students to access the best Italian and international high schools.

MILE School was born in 2003 from the will and passion for Education of its founder. Born and raised in Milan, after graduating in Law, Adriana Sorbellini obtained post-graduate pedagogical studies, deepening her skills abroad where she was able to get in touch with leading bilingual early childhood education facilities. In 1998, she founded the first bilingual nursery school in Franciacorta (BS) and, in 2003, she created the bilingual company nursery school in Milan on behalf of Nestlé Italia.

Passionate and researcher, she has participated in the drafting of the items of the certification of the quality path EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) in collaboration with the City of Milan. She also collaborates today with the University of Pavia, the Catholic University of Milan and the Bicocca University of Milan. Strongly supports the educational contribution of paths related to innovation and digitization, promoting robotics projects as well as increasing the network of international relations related to training and to the spread of bilingualism from early childhood.

All subjects are taught in both languages in order to ensure a solid academic platform which allows our students to access the best Italian high schools or the most prestigious international high schools.

Our approach is holistic and takes into account the development of the child as an individual who must learn important interpersonal skills. For this reason, alongside all traditional subjects, we integrate subjects as DRAMA, ICT, MUSIC, ART, PHYSICAL EDUCATION. Our interdisciplinary projects promote awareness of sustainability and the environment: food education, the garden project, the recycling project, the pet care project, the bicycle project.

Every student’s inclusion is essential: we work according to the individual needs of each child. Collaboration with our Community is an integral part of our teaching: Teacher and Parent working groups give life to sporting events such as MILE ON ICE, MILE ON SKI, MILE ON BIKE as well as to important art and music events. Our school offers a multicultural environment thanks to the over 20 nationalities present within our community. As we are part of International Schools Partnership, we can also offer additional learning and cultural opportunities.
