Mills International Preschool

Welcome to Mills International Preschool, where we inspire and develop the leaders of tomorrow. We understand the importance of giving children the best start in life and our school operates in new, specially designed premises designed with the best of both technology and nature in mind. We offer a caring and stimulating environment for up to 300 girls and boys aged from 12 months to 5 years.

Mills International Preschool provides a secure and spacious environment. Every classroom overlooks a green park, with natural lighting playing a key feature. Children also have access to the local park, playground, and sports ground facilities.

We follow the British Early Years curriculum framework, and our philosophy is that children learn best by participating. We therefore provide an active, lively, and cheerful environment in which children learn through play and discover new knowledge through guided activity. We emphasise the benefits of music and drama with plenty of singing and performances, as well as exhibitions of artwork and other creative endeavours.

We believe that all children have the right to achieve their full potential, and we strive to create an environment that is supportive, stimulating, and encouraging. Our aim is to ensure that all children in our care are happy, confident, well-motivated, and enthusiastic about learning. We also focus on children as individuals, developing talents and skills in each child, helping them to focus on specific developmental needs whilst building upon their strengths so that they can excel.

Children enjoy a very broad and well-balanced curriculum and are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities. They receive specialist teaching in Mandarin, Music, Art, and PE. Each classroom is fully equipped with the latest learning aids, and technology is fully integrated into the daily curriculum while we continue to uphold traditional values.

We aim that all our students will leave Mills International Preschool with a love of learning which will enable them to become lifelong learners in our ever-changing world. Bright, happy children engaged in meaningful learning activities as they become independent thinkers. To provide a stimulating learning environment with a creative orientation across the whole curriculum, maximising individual potential and ensuring students of all abilities are well equipped to meet the challenges of learning and life.

We provide a unique international education in English with Mandarin lessons everyday. Through enriching activities and structured play, we develop early skills in inquiry, critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. Our caring and professional teachers nurture and inspire students with a love for learning and the confidence to explore their world.

At Mills International Preschool, we believe that academic learning should be underpinned with play. We offer a diverse range of play activities that stimulate the senses, provide opportunities for creativity, develop fine and gross motor skills, as well as develop critical thinking skills. This child-centered and led approach means our students become confident learners who are engaged in the world around them, whilst their inquisitiveness motivates them to learn. We then help them to make sense of this knowledge and apply it to real-life situations.

We understand the importance both free and structured play have in developing key skill sets. We strive not only to give students an academic education but also to provide all round learning, to prepare them for the next stage in their academic and social lives.

Our teaching and learning strategy provides hands-on experiences and activities that stimulate children’s growth and curiosity whilst working in small groups, and we synthesise the latest research on cross-cultural communication, child development, and teaching into our curriculum.
