Established in 1969, Mingdao has dedicated itself to the field of education and has shown its excellence in a modest way. The basis of the concepts of founding members, Wang Guan-Ping and Wang Fu-Lai, is to cultivate future global citizens with outstanding professional and humanitarian abilities, and to unite teachers’ devotion and administrative support. Mingdao has achieved “School of Humanity” by creating environment of happy learning, healthy growing, and amplitude in education and holistic development.

To grant the students a bright future, we have the following measures In some rigorous class such as English literature and Math, we divide the students into two groups. This helps create a competitive environment in which students learn English. “Right students in the right class.” Advanced English courses have been arranged into the normal class schedule to make English learning more effectively. Science education is also highly emphasized; therefore, the creative invention club in our school has won us good reputation on account of students’ great inventive ability acquired from Science classes. We offer a well-organized teaching system to support the following 7 major subjects: Chinese, English, Math, Science, Social Study, Information Technology, and Fine Arts. This system is to match the philosophy of the 6-year education program, to help students adjust themselves to high school learning environment, and to devote themselves to a promising future. We believe that our students will be more competitive under the trend of globalization.

Our philosophy is to teach our students that "their personalities are as important as their brains." This philosophy contributes to the birth of a “Complete Education," which is to teach our students to seek a better quality of life, to help others, to be optimistic, to love and share, and to understand the meaning of dedication. To achieve the goals of “Complete Education" here at Mingdao, for example, the Scouting class provides a program to develop effective character, citizenship, and personal fitness training for youth. Specifically, the Scouting class makes every endeavor to develop our students to have a keen respect for the basic rights of all people and to be prepared to participate in and give leadership to our society.

The Talent Education is based on a variety of learning styles, including Arts, Sciences, Math, Social Studies, Health and Fitness, Languages and Technology. In addition, students are also highly encouraged to learn from nature, history, cultures, and the world, so that they will learn how to play their role well in the high school life. Humanism, the combination of civilization, modernization and tradition, is the life spring of Mingdao’s education. Technically, we use multi-media in class and create an environment combining modern technology and teaching materials with the classical and academic atmosphere.
