Misk Schools

Misk Schools is a pioneering, private K–12 day school for boys and girls in Riyadh that aims to prepare the next generation of leaders. It exists to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by instilling in students the knowledge, values, and skills they need to grow into leaders of themselves, of others, and in their field of study.

Founded in 2016 by HRH Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Misk Schools aspires to push forward the frontier of innovation in education, with a focus on approaches that enable students to become high-performing and inquisitive critical thinkers. These approaches equip them with the knowledge, spirit, and ambition to positively impact their nation and the world.

Recognised as one of the top 150 private schools globally – and among the top 15 in the Middle East – by The Schools Index 2024 (an annual publication by global education group, Carfax Education), Misk Schools is renowned for excellence.

Our core academic curriculum is delivered in partnership with Cambridge International Education, the world’s largest provider of international education for three- to 19-year-olds and a part of the University of Cambridge, UK. Recognised by universities and employers worldwide, we chose the Cambridge curriculum for its exceptional teaching and learning standards. It also offers the flexibility to adapt it to our unique environment, allowing us to combine it with Saudi National Identity Subjects such as Social Studies, Islamic Studies, and Arabic Language, which are taught in Arabic across all grades.

All teaching and learning is underpinned by High Performance Learning (HPL) – an educational philosophy based on over 30 years of research into how the highest-performing students think and learn. Grounded in neuroscientific and psychological evidence, HPL challenges the antiquated notion that only a minority of children can excel at high levels. Consequently, its driving purpose is to facilitate high performance for the many, not just a select few.

In classes of no more than 15 students, learners study for International GCSEs in Grades 9 and 10, progressing to A-levels or BTECs in Grades 11 and 12. All students sit the national Tahsili and Qudrat exams in Grades 11 and 12, respectively. Students graduate with the Misk Schools Diploma, validated by Cambridge University Press & Assessment. This Diploma is a personal portfolio of accomplishments, reflecting academic, leadership, and professional achievements, alongside customised experiential and skills-based micro-credentials. It is organised into four key areas: Academic, Leadership, Internship, and National Identity.
