MIS is a growing, campus-inspired school set in beautiful grounds a few kilometres from central Pattaya. We offer a quality British-based education to children from pre-school up to IGCSE level, with plans to add years 12 and 13 in the near future. New sporting and academic facilities are constantly being added, and we are particularly proud of our newly opened STEAM Building where the secondary sciences, mathematics and computer technology departments are now housed.

MIS prides itself on being a friendly and family-orientated school which believes in allowing each child to fulfil his or her potential through academics, the arts and sport. Our qualified and dedicated staff ensure that each child is encouraged to be the best they can while also thinking of others and those less fortunate in the wider community. Additionally, we aim to promote confidence and inner respect in all our students in the belief that this will help them become good and caring citizens wherever their future lies.

We believe that the M.I.S. ethos is well represented by the school and its students. At the heart of that ethos is the creation of a nurturing and peaceful community. This finds visible expression in our carefully cultivated school grounds which provide a tranquil and beautiful setting for our staff and students. Accordingly, this environment plays a vital role in producing the happy, peaceful and positive atmosphere most visitors to the school comment upon. From this foundation we can provide our students with the opportunities to realise their potential, both academically and personally, through outstanding teaching and learning, high academic standards and a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Finally, as an international school located in Thailand, we strive to embrace an international and multi-cultural outlook whilst celebrating the Thai culture that forms an important part of most of our student’s cultural heritage.

Mission

  • To encourage learners to achieve desirable characteristics in four areas: physical, emotional – mental, social, and intellectual.
  • To provide a quality education which meets international standards. Students will enjoy learning, and be upstanding people in terms of discipline, morality, ethics, and a desire to protect the natural environment. Additionally, students are encouraged to see themselves as potential leaders with the ability to work well with others.
  • To ensure the teaching and learning aspect of the curriculum is developed to suit the abilities of our learners so that they reach their potential. Students should become adept at using technology effectively with an emphasis on student-centered learning.
  • To encourage teachers to uphold the spirt and ethical aspect of the teaching profession and to seek continual improvement in their teaching skills.
  • To integrate the Early Years Foundation Stage with the Montessori Curriculum, while ensuring the English National Curriculum has both local and multinational links.
  • To develop a variety of learning resources and cultural activities that incorporate the natural school environment.
  • To strengthen the school’s educational links by promoting learning and knowledge to our local community and wider Thai society. Additionally, the school should promote increased cooperation among its stakeholders in order to build lasting relationships between school, parents and the local community.
  • To develop the use of increased technology for the improved efficiency of school management and general administration.

At M.I.S. we passionately believe that a good education consists in more than just an academic curriculum, important though that is, but provides children with opportunities to encounter a broad range of experiences, activities and ideas. It is often these extra-curricular activities that provide a platform for building character and discovering aptitudes, and where children are able to learn about themselves and others in a richer and more rounded manner.

We try and find as many ways of introducing extra-curricular activities as we can without disrupting the pursuit of academic attainment. Once a term, for example, we encourage our teachers to take their classes out of school on field trips. Meanwhile, some of our older children get involved in supporting local charities.

We also ask our teachers to provide activities for the students during one of their weekly lunch breaks. There are a number of different activities the children can sign-up for including sports such as football (soccer) and basketball and creative pursuits such as drama and a computer club.

In addition to these voluntary activities, we put a lot of effort into celebrating important occasions at M.I.S. These celebrations include and involve the whole school community and sometimes occupy a whole day, typically on the last day of term. Thus Christmas, Songkran and our International Day celebration bring each one of our three terms to a close in fine style. The time and effort some of our staff put into these events is really quite remarkable and is reflected in the marvelous sets, costumes and choreography that mark these occasions.

My son went to this school before moving back to the UK, he went to school in the UK for one year previously where he wet him self every day and he was completely hyperactive, he then went to MIS from Kindergarten until he was 9, I couldn't believe the instant development within the first 10 days, the next year is where is all changed for the best, we went back to the UK when he was 9 and he was the most brightest kid in he's junior school where he studied every subject around two years previous, when he went to senior school he was an ambassador instantly, the way he thinks from the curriculum at MIS is second to none he is 16 and one of the top students in The school with at least 5 subjects expecting him to pass with grade 9's (A++) now days I can't comment about MIS but my aim once my son finished he's exams in the UK I aim to get back to Thailand and have my son of 2 and daughter of 5 to attend MIS due to our possitive passed experience with MIS

An international school that grew out of a Montessori kindergarten. Teaching in English. Nursery, kindergarten and school up to 9th grade. Vast territory and a cute cafe with smoothies. There is wifi on site for parents. A family market is held monthly, where you can buy farm products and used baby sandals
