Moscow State University of Civil Engineering

National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (NRU MGSU) was established in 1921. Before 1993 it was known as Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering named after V.V. Kuibyshev (MISI). It is one of the oldest technical institutes of higher education of the Russian Federation. The University comprises 10 big institutes, more than 50 departments, implementing the training of specialists in a wide range of scientific areas. There are 40 specialized scientific laboratories; more than 50 innovative structures are making scientific and venture research in the sphere of design and construction of safe and comfortable buildings, structures and complexes, being an innovative pool of new knowledge in civil engineering. There are now more than 18000 students studying at the University. NRU MGSU has 6 branches in the Moscow region and one branch in the Samara region, 8 offices in the Moscow region, 3 offices in the Tumen, Smolensk and Tula regions, as well as offices in the Republic of Bashkortostan and Stavropol region. The high level of NRU MGSU graduated is confirmed by Certificates of the correspondence of the educational activity of the University to the requirements of the International Standard ISO 9001:2008. The certificate was awarded by the Swiss company SGS, being part of the elite of the International Accreditation Forum is recognized in 140 countries of the world.

The National Research University "Moscow State University of Civil Engineering" – is the leading institution of the Russian Federation in the field of construction and architectural education. The University provides training (all forms of education: full-time, part-time, including training with the use of the elements of distance learning technologies). The education is possible on the budget or paid basis. NRU MGSU is the participant of the contest on the filiation of universities of the Russian Federation for the right of independent selection for the training on the basis of quotas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for well-performing candidates and winners of the Olympiad "It’s time to study in Russia!".

In NRU MGSU the order of control of an entrance and an exit of persons from buildings of the National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (NRU MGSU) and also the rule of bringing and carrying out of material values, entrance and departure of motor transport is established. Access control in NRU MGSU is carried out by the bureau of admissions and two departments of protection of Safety Department. The main objective of access control is the safety of students, teachers and workers of NRU MGSU, and also the implementation of measures for counteraction to possible criminal and terrorist manifestations.

More than 150 students, postgraduate and lecturers of the University annually participate in international exchange programmes. More than 200 lecturers of the University take part in international programmes of further education, qualification upgrading and practical courses. More than 1 500 students and lecturers of NRU MGSU annually participate in international conferences, seminars, exhibitions and forums. As a modern University with an international focus, we have broad international ties with universities, scientific and research institutes, building companies from neighboring and far-abroad states.

At the present moment NRU MGSU is actively cooperating with 80 foreign institutes of higher education from 35 countries of the world. Among them are: Austria, Byelorussia, Bulgaria,China, Czech Republic, France, Finland, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Scotland, Tajikistan, the USA, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam. The University takes part in the programmes of the European Union such as Tempus and Erasmus Mundus programmes, as well as in many international projects and programmes, implemented with the support of the european funds, agencies, embassies and many others.
