Musashi International School Tokyo (MIST), located in Mitaka, Tokyo, is one of the only four international schools in Japan that offer the Cambridge International programmes at both primary and secondary levels. The kindergarten division for ages 2-5 uses a preschool curriculum in English based on the Early Years Foundation Stage in which academics and play based learning are mixed.
We are committed to providing a high quality international education with reasonable tuition fees to nurture ambitious and life-long learners.
MIST contributes to the world community by creating future leaders who have global mindsets and a visionary spirit.
The MIST vision for education focuses on developing our student’s ability to set goals, self assess personal abilities, and create an effective pathway to reach their full potential as they develop emotional, intellectual, and physical strengths.
At MIST, we hold the belief that every child can succeed when provided with the right support, encouragement, and understanding. Every student deserves the opportunity to discover and nurture their unique gifts and potential. Our community is guided by the principle that "there is more than one path to the top of the mountain." This philosophy, along with our mission to develop the next generation of global leaders, drives us to foster an environment where curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration are at the forefront of learning.
There are two levels in Kindergarten at MIST, Junior Kinder which corresponds to Nensho-class in Japan, and Senior Kinder which corresponds to Nenchu in Japan. Nencho in Japan corresponds to Year 1 in Elementary of Cambridge Primary.
The program is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage which is designed in order for all children to have the best start in their life and be capable of demonstrating all of their possible abilities.
In a 100% English language environment, students’ growth is nurtured based on the following seven areas of learning.
