My First Skool

For 40 years now, My First Skool has been a leader in early childhood care and education. The pre-school arm of NTUC (National Trades Union Congress) First Campus Co-operative, we have grown into one of Singapore's most respected early childhood organisations since we opened our doors in 1977.

Children are, and always have been, at the heart of all we do. That's why we are all about creating joyful learning experiences - from our holistic curriculum and ever-growing number of pre-schools, to our passionate teachers and our close partnership with parents.

With over 130 pre-schools island-wide, and more every day, we are dedicated to bringing quality pre-school education within easy reach, so that every child can grow great and be the best that they can be... together.

We have more than 2,200 early childhood educators across the island, all with one passion – to help your child be the best he or she can be.

All our teachers meet the training requirements set by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA), and most also hold a Diploma in Pre-School Education. We also believe in constant training and development because, just like your children, we never stop learning.

My First Skool is supported by a central team of education development specialists who help develop our programmes, train our teachers and maintain the quality of teaching. all that means is that children at My First Skool can grow and learn in a happy, nurturing environment.

Being passionate about children and what we teach is in our DNA. We are committed to empower our children with the confidence to constantly seek new knowledge and experiences. We also encourage them to ask questions because a learning mind is an inquisitive one. From group learning activities to their well-being, every interaction is based on patience and care.

Relationships form the primary context for learning and growth in infants. They develop emotional security and basic mental processes through strong and secure relationships.

The Skool-Educare© Curriculum is specially designed for children from 2 months to 3 years old. At the heart of the programme is the team’s love for toddlers and playgroup children, and their dedication to provide a safe and secure environment for children to explore their world and express themselves. The children learn sensory, motor and self-help skills through object-based activities to prepare them for pre-school and inspire them for life.

At My First Skool, a primary caregiver helps each child develop a sense of security and confidence to explore and learn about their environment.Infants are given ample opportunities to explore and construct knowledge through a variety of sensorial activities, such as exploring with paint and dough. As infant begin to learn to communicate with people around them, our teachers facilitate their development by responding to their cues.

We emphasise on a learning process that focuses on development, well-being and active involvement of children instead of a traditional teacher-directed learning approach. This helps to nurture them to become resilient and independent children.

At My First Skool, toddlers are often encouraged to use their five senses as tools to make observations and discover the characteristics of objects around them. Adopting a relationships-based approach, the curriculum places an emphasis on the interaction between young children and their teachers. This child-initiated approach fosters learning based on interest, allowing children to make choices among carefully planned curriculum activities.
