New City School was built in 1897 and has been a central part of the community ever since. In the last few years, the school has expanded its role with an Outreach Centre providing services for the community. At the heart of the school are the children and the education they receive.

We focus on children learning the basic skills of English and Maths, while maintaining a broad and rich Foundation curriculum. Children are encouraged to be independent thinkers and problem solvers. The school has always had a strong focus on children’s behaviours and relationships Visitors to the school often commend the children on their positive behaviours.

We are a school with high expectations and aspirations for all our pupils. New City is a happy and exciting learning community that nurtures all pupils to achieve to be the best they can be.Our Curriculum is rich in the delivery of basic skills as well as the mastery and application of knowledge.

The learning environment celebrates and reflects the high emphasis we place on the creative arts, sciences and sports to enrich the learning experience. All of our children are encouraged to learn a musical instrument.

We aim to reflect the diversity of the community we serve through strong and powerful community cohesion with high parental involvement. We also promote an understanding of citizenship and British values through school visits to central London, rural and coastal areas.

We encourage parental involvement in our learning through parent workshops that reflect the needs of all children and parents from online-safety to phonics and healthy eatingWe offer a large selection of after school clubs including booster and one to one tuition to ensure that all children meet their full potential.

We want to promote an inclusive and effective learning community with high expectations. Our school to reflect the local area, to welcome and celebrate diversity and to provide an inspirational environment where pupils feel happy, valued and secure in their learning. We enhance children's life chances through a stimulating, supportive parental partnership that nurtures each child to achieve his/her full potential. For children to become responsible, confident members of a global society who can apply their experiences at New City to all future learning.
