New Woodlands School

We are a special school who support all children from 5 to 14 who have SEMH as their main need. We admit children from all Lewisham mainstream schools who are referred to us. We will support the child and the family to put in support mechanisms and strategies to help manage behaviour/learning progress.

We have an open door policy for all parents and encourage you to come up to the school no matter how small your worry may be, we can nearly always find a solution to the problem.We recognise the most difficult job in the world is bringing up children in modern society and are here to help support all parents and carers through what is often a difficult time in that child/young person’s life.

In anything we do for the pupils we must be thoroughly prepared, totally committed & hugely enthusiastic because we never want to think afterwards “What a wasted opportunity”. We are the last opportunity so we have to be the best. Our desire to get better, ability to try new things & learn from our errors, our blatant refusal to stand still & our commitment to make it happen must be at the heart of everything we do.

We aim for every student to achieve his/her potential and return to mainstream school wherever possible. Every student will leave New Woodlands literate, numerate and with a personal dream of what he/she wants to achieve in his/her life.
