NHTV is a university of applied sciences with about 7,000 students from over 100 countries. It is situated in the south of the Netherlands, in the city of Breda, only 100 km from both Amsterdam and Brussels. Breda is a historical city with some 180,000 inhabitants. Appr. 20,000 young people are studying in Breda. NHTV was founded in 1966 as an institute offering bachelor’s programmes in tourism and leisure and in this field, it is the largest and leading education institution in the world. New (academic) bachelor’s and master’s programmes have been developed since then.
As from 1 September 2018 NHTV Breda will continue under the name of Breda University of Applied Sciences. NHTV will not only be given a new name. We have also developed a new logo and corporate identity, consistent with our positioning objectives
NHTV prepares you for management-level positions in an international setting. International accreditations from, for instance, the UN World Tourism Organization and the World leisure Organization underline the quality of education. NHTV works together with many leading education institutions all over the world. As a result, there are many opportunities for intensive student and lecturer exchanges. Due in part to the joint research programmes, student conferences and summer courses, the international character of the programmes is strengthened. Furthermore, NHTV encourages work placements abroad or at internationally oriented companies.
NHTV Breda counts four locations in Breda, some 7,700 students from over 60 countries and offers professional and academic bachelor’s and master’s programmes in the disciplines of:
All study programmes cover some focus areas which are unique to NHTV. These focus areas are cross-cultural understanding, social responsibility, imagineering and entrepreneurship. NHTV set up the ‘international classroom’, a teaching method in which students from different cultures work together.
The strategic aim for 2017 is to further develop NHTV into an entrepreneurial and business-oriented institution of higher education which is considered to be an internationally renowned knowledge institution on the basis of the high quality of education and knowledge development.
In the first year of the new strategy period (2018-2021) NHTV Breda will continue from 1 September 2018 under the name of Breda University of Applied Sciences. NHTV will not only be given a new name. We have also developed a new logo and corporate identity, consistent with our positioning objectives. We will officially adopt our new name and new corporate identity as from 1 September 2018.
NHTV greatly values a good relationship with its alumni. Although you obtained your degree, we would like you to feel that your time at NHTV is not over yet! We would gladly keep in touch with our graduates. On the one hand because we are very much interested in what our graduates are doing these days. On the other hand because you - more than anyone else - are capable of making a contribution to the quality of education at NHTV, for instance by offering placement positions, graduation projects and other practical assignments. Moreover, we offer you the opportunity to maintain contact with other graduates.
In view of the ever greater diversity of NHTV programmes, the alumni part of the website now also features a submenu per programme in addition to the main menu. Ik ben erg lovend over BUas! Een prachtig gebouw en veel ruimte om te sporten. Ook worden er verschillende “clubs” voor naschoolse activiteiten aangeboden. De leraren zullen niet alles voor je uitstippelen, wat algemeen bekend is bij HBO, dus zelfstandigheid wordt wel verwacht. Over het algemeen erg tevreden!!

Mijn ervaring met de Buas is erg lovend! De school is kleinschalig ingedeeld, dit vind ik erg prettig. De docenten zijn erg open en hebben veel kennis.
Sinds we op de campus zitten is de samenhang tussen de verschillende studies beter. We delen samen de bibliotheek, wat zorgt voor uitwisseling van kennis en ervaring. De campus is ook erg groen, waardoor je met mooi weer heerlijk buiten kan relaxen of studeren!

k zit op dit moment in het tweede jaar van de bachelor of science leisure studies en ben zeer tevreden over zowel de opleiding als BUas zelf. De kleinschaligheid zorgde voor mij voor een makkelijke overgang vanuit de middelbare school. In mijn jaar zitten bijvoorbeeld maar 12 studenten, waardoor de lectures ook veel persoonlijker zijn en de docenten je ook echt kennen.
De nieuwe campus is ook heel mooi en er zijn genoeg rustige plekjes om te leren.

BUas is een onwijs goede HB0- en WO school. De school geeft je mogelijkheid om jezelf te ontwikkelen en daarbij het beste in je naar boven te halen. Door de Campus kan je contact maken met andere studenten van de BUas. Dit verbreedt je netwerk wat je in de toekomst ten alle tijden kan gebruiken! Daarnaast komen veel docenten uit het werkveld die hun kennis toepassen in de lessen.

Ben bijna klaar met mijn media opleiding en ben erg tevreden over de afgelopen 4 jaar. De leraren zijn erg betrokken en helpen je waar nodig/mogelijk. De sfeer in het gebouw is onspannen en het is zo ingedeeld dat het kleinschalig aanvoelt. Veel ruimte om voor je zelf aan de slag te gaan en niet onbelangrijk: stopcontacten zijn er genoeg!

Ik zit nu in het vierde en laatste jaar van de opleiding Tourism Management en heb mijn hele studie als positief ervaren. Zeker nu de nieuwe campus helemaal af is en iedereen op één locatie is, is de sfeer echt top. Daarnaast zijn de docenten allemaal super behulpzaam en het contact is allemaal heel erg informeel. Needless to say dat ik Breda University of Applied Sciences aan iedereen kan aanbevelen!

BUas is een fijne hogeschool waar je de mogelijkheid krijgt om jezelf verder te ontwikkelen en waar met je wordt meegedacht. Mocht je ergens mee vast lopen dan zijn de docenten of mede studenten altijd wel bereid om je weer op weg te helpen. Dit betreft niet alleen de werkzaamheden en opdrachten die je krijgt, maar ook je studiekeuze in jaar 1, verdere richtingkeuzes in de daarop volgende jaren en je stage/exchange mogelijkheden. Bij BUas sta je er niet alleen voor!

Ik zit momenteel in mijn tweede studiejaar en ben erg tevreden over BUas. De docenten zijn vakkundig omdat ze vaak zelf actief zijn het werkveld. Daarbovenop heeft de school een uitstekend stagenetwerk waar je gebruik van kunt maken. De lessen en college's zijn afwisselend en sluiten goed aan op de praktijk.
Wat ik persoonlijk erg fijn vind aan BUas is dat het een kleinschalige school is waar je jezelf geen nummertje voelt. Sinds kort zijn alle opleidingen samengevoegd op een mooie nieuwe campus, dit zorgt voor een nog leukere sfeer.

Ik ben erg tevreden met de opleiding Built Environment en de school zelf. De opleiding is kleinschalig, waardoor je veel persoonlijke feedback krijg op zowel je werk als je ontwikkeling. Omdat je niet zomaar een nummertje bent is het contact tussen studenten en docenten erg fijn. Ze hebben veel ervaring uit het werkveld, omdat veel van hen naast les geven bij BUas ook in het veld werken. Daardoor krijg je veel inkijkjes in het werkveld. De sfeer op school is erg ontspannen. Er is genoeg ruimte voor creativiteit en eigen inbreng.
