NJIS is also the only school in the area to be accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) based in the United States. This accreditation will help to give your child access to some of the best universities in North America and around the world. It also lets you know that your child is enrolled in a school that meets exactly the same standards as the best schools in the US. We are currently in the process of becoming an International Baccalaureate (IB) School at the Primary, Middle School, and Diploma Programme levels*.

  • Academic standards are high at NJIS, and we believe that students learn best when they have :
  • Mastery: Students learn best when teachers help them visualize their growth and improvement from week to week and year to year.
  • Autonomy: Students learn best when they are given opportunities to develop independence and when they feel that they have some control over their learning process.

Purpose: Students learn best when they can see the purpose of their learning and when the projects they engage in have real-life impact, making the world a better place.

As our school vision states, “We develop future leaders with the wisdom and passion to enact change.” NJIS believes in discovering excellence in every child, and we do this through a process of individualized learning. Our core strength is our teachers who are all fully qualified and passionate professionals in their field. All of our teachers are certified from their home country and more than half of our expatriate faculty hold a Masters or Doctorate degree.

No other school in Jakarta can match the quality of our teachers and no other school offers the same level of attention to your child's needs. Part of our educational philosophy is that class sizes are kept small, which allows your child to get the kind of focused and direct attention from teachers that will allow them to bloom.

Our Vision is We build academic excellence alongside social and emotional intelligence in every student. We develop future leaders with the wisdom and passion to enact change. Our Mission We provide an inspiring education that equips young people with the 21st-century skills and knowledge needed to find new solutions for our world.

I remember studying in NJIS back in the early 2000s. All the teachers were so kind, fun, and just amazing altogether. I still keep in touch with a few classmates these days too!

Yes I went to North Jakarta international school in the early 90's. I still remember Ms Windstock and Mr Mackay. Ms Windstock taught me how to write and always told us about the 3 bears story. The pool and cafeteria were the best, the sugar flavoured popcorn and A&W menu. I still remember Jonathan, Ryan, Yoda, Alistair, Kwung Hee, and Yuri, a bunch of very super cool dudes. Put me back in a time machine and send me back any day!
