A new hi-tech nursery set up to support mothers working for the government has opened its doors in Dubai.
Ora Nursery of the Future – which features a scientific lab and a mini programming centre among 22 learning zones spanning 600 square metres – will look after children aged from 45 days to four-years-old.
Mohammed Bin Taliah, assistant director general for government services at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, said the nursery reflects the government’s intention to help its female employees juggle work and family life.
The nursery is based at Emirates Towers in DIFC.
“The nursery serves all employees working in government entities at Emirates Towers, while adopting a futuristic model of early education to prepare children for different learning stages and providing them with the skills and tools that will make them ready for the future,” he said.
The decor in the area designed for children aged up to two years is black and white to take account of the visual development of younger ones, while other areas are designed to be similarly age appropriate.
Children rest in a range of special sleeping capsules designed for their age, but can mix with children of different ages in interactive areas, allowing them to learn from each other.
The interactive learning areas include a digital wall, library containing both English and Arabic books, several reading platforms, a splash pad and an outdoor garden.
Using the Zayed Early Learning Framework, the curriculum is designed to promote reading and maths.
