Our school motto ‘From little acorns, mighty oaks do grow’ is lived out in everyday life at the school as we nurture each child in a stimulating, and caring environment. We develop reflective and resourceful learners who are challenged and stretched individually, ensuring they have the support needed to reach their full potential. Our vision is to create an environment where children learn skills to grow into independent and confident learners, with a love for learning.
Our curriculum not only supports pupils academically but focusses on developing the whole child. Many of the opportunities offered extend beyond the classroom and our wide range of enrichment programmes include a varied selection of before and after school clubs and a range of stimulating school trips and visits throughout the year.
We have highly motivated and passionate staff who share this collaborative vision and work hard to provide a personalised education for each child; inspiring our pupils to develop a passion for learning. This commitment ensures that our pupils not only receive the highest quality of education, but also grow into confident individuals with great aspirations for themselves and their communities. Pupils at Oaklands Primary School are regularly praised for their achievements and their successes ensuring all children develop a sense of pride in themselves and their school. Our new “love of learning” tree in the hall displays the names of all the children who have shown great learning during the year and every Friday we celebrate different children’s achievements in school.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Oaklands Primary School. To find out more about our thriving school or to arrange your personal tour please ring the office to book a place.
Our school motto is: From little acorns mighty oaks do grow, At the heart of Oaklands Primary School are the values of respect for all, pride in ourselves and our school and the commitment to develop a love of learning. These values inspire everything that we do and ensure our children grow in to confident individuals with great aspirations for themselves, their futures and their communities. To do this we carefully nurture our pupils so that when they leave us they have excellent academic knowledge alongside the confidence, motivation and skills to apply themselves to any challenge.

Our curriculum is designed carefully to ensure that our children develop their knowledge and skills to a high level and then have the opportunities to apply them in exciting ways so that they can be mastered. High levels of confidence and independence in reading, writing and maths are essential to be able to learn and succeed in their later life. A large variety of other learning opportunities, including trips and visits and after school clubs, allow our children to extend their experience so they can develop their own lifetime aspirations for success. Our detailed curriculum map plans these opportunities out and supports our staffs’ curriculum knowledge so we can provide a variety of high quality learning experiences for our children. Ms Kirsty Packham (Deputy Headteacher) manages the curriculum and is available should you have any questions or queries.
