Oaks Christian School

Oaks Christian School is an amazing place where students are nurtured and encouraged to develop their potential in academics, arts and athletics in the context of a Christian education. Preparing Minds for Leadership and Hearts for Service isn't just a slogan, but a foundational principle which helps us shape the next generation of servants and leaders. Our students are guided by dedicated faculty who are passionate about their calling to teach and mentor. We are a college-preparatory school serving grades 5 through 12 on 25 beautiful acres, surrounded by majestic mountain ranges, and minutes from the spectacular Pacific Ocean.

An impressive 99% of our graduates receive college admission, often to highly-selective, top-tier schools. Forty-one percent will attend highly selective colleges as defined by schools that admit 30% or less of the students who apply. Many of our student-athletes have gone on to play at D1 schools, and professional sports. Our student-artists gain local and national honors annually for their creative abilities.

The formation of spiritual leadership, empathy and a global world view are fostered through our numerous mission and education trips, student leadership councils, and many community service outreaches. By providing these opportunities, we aim to graduate students who will be difference-makers.

The International Student Boarding Program sponsors over 50 students from seven countries. The OC Learning Center provides tutoring and test-preparation for 800 students, to both our OCS students and also to local, public schools. The fully-accredited OC Online School is a high-quality program for blended or long-distance learning and is a leader in online education.

Additionally, both the middle school and the high school feature a state-of-the-art makerspace Innovation Lab where students are introduced to a variety of problem-solving, hands-on activities that foster design thinking and engineering activities. Our robotics classes also promote the advancement of STEM learning. Our music students are also collaborating internationally. Other highlights of the high school are entrepreneurial leadership and film academies. These endeavors pair students with business mentors and industry leaders in real-life projects. Entrepreneurial students showcase their work at the end of the year in a "Shark Tank" style event .

The Oaks Christian School curriculum was created from the best programs across the nation, from experts who have become our department chairs, and others with vast experience. From grades five through twelve, students obtain thorough instruction in a core liberal arts curriculum with an emphasis on critical thinking, formulation and defense of ideas, and effective writing and speaking.

Small class sizes permit personal attention and interaction between teachers and students to enhance the academic journey. Most departments in our high school offer courses beyond the level of college preparation. Similarly, our Academy V program and middle school's academic rigor prepares students well for the demands of the high school curriculum. Also offered are advanced programs in visual and performing arts, a rich selection of honors and advanced placement courses, and other broad electives.

Oaks Christian School selects students on the basis of their academic record, ISEE test scores, personal interview and teacher and administrator recommendations. Oaks Christian School looks for students who desire to achieve in a demanding college preparatory environment, who are eager to participate in visual and performing arts, athletics, and co-curricular programs, and who will be active, involved members of the school community. All of our students are involved in the faith community of our school; however, not all of our students are of the Christian faith.
