Odessa National University

Odessa I.I.Mechnikov National University – one of the oldest in Ukraine. Here you can get acquainted with a reach history of the university and current multifaceted educational, scientific and social work of its numerous team of teachers, research fellows and students.

The university is a classical establishment of higher education of a European type. It trains specialists in main spheres of natural and human sciences. Nowadays, in the ΧΧΙ c., Ukraine faces a new political and economical reality. Taking this into account, we settled down to training specialists of management, foreign relations, political science, social science, international economical affairs, journalism, microbiology and other modern professions.

The work of the University is recognized by European educational and scientific centers. It is a member of the Association of European Universities and The International Association of Universities. ONU constantly takes part in the work of international organizations on the subject of the higher education. Hundreds of foreign students receive education within the walls of ONU.

The Educational programs/training by pre-University Program allows students of the Preparatory Department to learn Ukrainian/Russian language and, if necessary, to repeat the profile subjects of the school course. Educational programs/training is carried out on the terms of the contract. After successful completion of pre-University Program, the students of the Preparatory Department may study to Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University or other Ukrainian Universities.

Odessa National I.I. Mechnikov University invites the foreigners to enroll on the Ukrainian/Russian language courses. The courses are oriented for students of a different language competence levels. At the beginning of the studying every student should pass a test to determine his language competence level. Then the necessary language program can be chosen according to the student’s result of the test, also taking into account his communicative needs and personal preferences.

All the ONU Ukrainian/Russian language programs meet the requirements of Common European Framework of Reference. The programs include the grammatical basis formation, verbal skills activation, conversance with the Russian/Ukrainian classical literature, art and history of Ukraine. The language programs are perfectly augmented with the city sightseeing, attending museums, theatres, exhibitions, communication with native speakers.
