Oliver Goldsmith pupils are proud of their school, they are well presented, polite, kind and hard-working and uphold the school’s ethos and values and its motto ‘Inspiring a love of learning’. Oliver Goldsmith has very supportive families, who contribute actively through the "Friends & Family of Goldsmith" Group (FOG). Many events are held throughout the year in order to secure a positive partnership with our families and local community. The governors work effectively with the school to ensure the best possible provision and outcomes for its pupils.

Oliver Goldsmith thrives on its diverse community with a rich variety of home languages, cultures, faiths and traditions. We are proud to celebrate our diversity and enjoy teaching and learning from each other.

We want our pupils to look forward to coming to school and to be bursting to talk about their day when they get home. We want them to enjoy learning for a real purpose and to develop their confidence, self-esteem, independence and a genuine love of learning. We want them to go out of the classroom as much as possible; learning in the school grounds, in the local area and beyond. We want them to learn from a range of visiting adults and to know how to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. We want them to cook, to garden, to make things and to experiment. We want them to visit theatres, galleries, museums and libraries. We want our pupils to be global citizens, able to succeed and build a fulfilling life in a sustainable and increasingly international society.

At OGPS we believe in “Inspiring a love of learning”. Come and join us and be part of something special.

"Success consists of getting up just one more time than you fall." We help our children to build their skills of resilience so they can learn from their mistakes and use them to grow future success.

Oliver Goldsmith thrives on its diverse community with a rich variety of home languages, cultures, faiths and traditions. We are proud to celebrate our diversity and enjoy learning from each other. We recognise the multi-cultural, multi faith and ever-changing nature of the country and our community. OGPS follows the policies outlined by the Equality Act 2010 which guarantees that there will be no discrimination against any individual or group, regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, political or financial status, or similar.

The spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth and development of our children supports their understanding of British Values.

Our curriculum prepares children for life in Britain and the wider world; this includes developing effective reading, writing skills and maths, so children have the core skills they need to be successful citizens. As well as this, our Learning Adventures encourage children to develop the skills of resilience, independence, collaboration and evaluation as these are fundamental to becoming an effective life-long learner. Curriculum themes include historical and geographical study in the context of the United Kingdom as well as national and international comparisons. Principles of democracy, power and the law are explored routinely throughout the school.
