Abu Dhabi: Students at The British International School Abu Dhabi, one of the UAE’s leading international schools, are celebrating another year of outstanding success in the IB Diploma Programme and the launch of the school’s first ever BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma results for the 2024/25 academic year.
With an impressive IB average score of 34 and a 99% pass rate, our students continue to outperform the global average. The highest score achieved was 43 out of 45, reflecting the exceptional effort and commitment of our learners. Additionally, 83% of our students achieved grade 5 or higher, 46% achieved 6 or above, and 12% reached the top score of 7, with 20% of students scoring 39 points or more.
This year also marks a historic milestone as our first Year 13 BTEC cohort successfully completed the BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business, achieving a 100% pass rate and an impressive cohort average of D*DD. Special congratulations to Fabah, who achieved the highest result of D*D*D* (equivalent to 168 UCAS points and three A* grades at A level) demonstrating outstanding consistency and dedication.
Together, these results mark a proud milestone for BIS Abu Dhabi, reflecting on our commitment to unlocking futures through both academic and vocational excellence. We wish our graduates continued success as they take their next steps and explore the world beyond the classroom.
Alan Cocker, Principal at The British International School Abu Dhabi said: “We are immensely proud of our students’ remarkable achievements across both the IB Diploma and BTEC programmes. This year’s results are a testament not only to their ambition, resilience, and hard work but also to the strength of our learning environment, where every student is known, supported, and challenged to succeed. Launching our first BTEC cohort with such strong outcomes highlights our commitment to offering high-quality, future-focused pathways for all learners. I also want to thank our dedicated teachers, who continue to inspire and guide our students every step of the way.”
Students heading to the world’s top universities
Thanks to their strong academic performance, our graduates have received offers from some of the most prestigious universities around the world. This year, students will be joining institutions such as Kings College London, University of Edinburgh, NYU Abu Dhabi, Delft University of Technology, George Washington University, University of Melbourne, and more.
Rachel Batty, University and Careers Counsellor, commented:
“Such excellent results have opened doors to some of the world’s top universities, where they will study a range of undergraduate degrees, from engineering and medicine to the arts and social sciences. This particular cohort will be remembered as much for their personal qualities as their academic achievements, and we look forward to hearing how they make their mark in the years ahead.”
The school is also celebrating numerous standout students this year, including Adam Badr, one of our BISAD Babies, who joined in 2010 and achieved an impressive IB score of 43, and Fabah, who joined in Year 2 and completed her BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business with the maximum result of D*D*D*.
