Overmonnow is a Community Primary School, situated in the historic market town of Monmouth, known as the Gateway to Wales. The school is at the edge of a rural environment in an area of land defined by the rivers Wye, Monnow and Trothy. We benefit from large grounds and a nursery unit. We also have a special needs unit and both after school provision and breakfast clubs. We host a Flying Start Base for under 3's. There are approximately 400 children who attend the school.

We try to help our children gain the knowledge, skills, self confidence and awareness to contribute fully to our society. We endeavour to provide children with skills that they can use for the rest of their lives. We have strong values and spend time preparing children for today, tomorrow and the future. We give emphasis to developing thinking skills and teaching children how to live harmoniously with others. We have a rich indoor learning environment which is complemented by wonderful outdoor space and learning areas.
