Welcome to Pelita International School. Based on the beautiful island of Penang, Malaysia, our objective as an
educational institution is to develop and nurture a child’s natural curiosity - so that their learning doesn’t just begin and end on school grounds alone.
In fact, we strive for holistic education. That means developing the natural curiosity of our students - so that they’re intrinsically motivated to learn. Learning is more than just reading and memorizing. Practical, physical involvement in the lesson is emphasized as much as academic pen-and-paper studying.
It is an eclectic combination of kinaesthetic activities with practice drills and audio-visual stimulation with real-life scenarios. We believe there is a genius in each child, and it is our job to nurture and train young ones to reach their fullest potential. Be part of our community today.
Life in Pelita is Schooling encompasses a majority of a student’s life - not just in terms of time, but also in influence. We know and understand that level of responsibility, and strive to stand apart from the monotonous repetitive stereotypes that many educational systems have become. We are lively and innovative; equally serious about work and play; a one-of-a-kind school.
At Pelita we follow and implement the philosophies and practical framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provided by The British Association for Early Childhood Education (BAECE), all of which is driven by four principle philosophies and six areas of learning.
At Pelita, not only do we develop the child’s academic skill set, we also understand that in this ever-developing world it is important for everyone to learn and foster new skills and interests. In that spirit, we have developed a curriculum that combines a variety of curricular with co-curricular activities - so your child will develop a versatile portfolio.
Our primary school education focuses on the teaching and learning of essential literacy and numeracy skills in active learning settings. Students explore concepts and ideas about themselves and the world around them, developing core values to facilitate physical, mental, and character development. Key Stage 1 comprises Years 1 and 2 while Key Stage 2 covers Years 3-6. Upon completion of primary education in Year 6, students will write the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Exams in English, Mathematics, and Science.
Our secondary school education is designed to extend students’ academic ability as well as nurture the social, emotional, and physical development of adolescents. The active programme of study also directs students in developing thinking, reasoning, and conceptual skills which are essential for engaging effectively in the 21st century life. Key Stage 3 comprises Years 7-9 with students writing the Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint Exams at the end of Year 9. Key Stage 4 encompasses Years 10 and 11, preparing students to write the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), an internationally recognised qualification which paves the way for further studies in many countries.

The school's development plan includes differentiation of curriculum according to language ability as well as classification via the multiple intelligence method (H. Gardner). They offer IGCSE classes and a wide range of subjects from kindergarten all the way to A-Levels. Teachers are young and energetic and have a good dynamic with students. Languages offered are English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Well-equipped with football field, basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, science and ICT labs, a Design & Technology workshop, etc. Beautiful sea view and nestled in the hillside with a cool breeze and lots of greenery all around

The school is situated on a higher ground, with beautiful scenery and surrounding. Safe and pleasant environment with plenty of greeneries for children to play, explore and learn. Despite its smaller scale buildings, the school is well facilitated with a Science lab, Design & Tech workshop, ICT lab, Dance & Music hall, Art room, comfortable and clean canteen, basketball court, badminton hall and a huge football field. Dedicated and caring educators who try to bring out the best in every child, incorporating Multiple Intelligence teachings. Definitely a good learning environment.

A great school! Warm and dedicated teachers with great learning environment. Near to nature away from the pollution from traffic. Students get fantastic attention from teachers and differentiated learning. Teachers try to get the best out of every students. Teachers believe every child is a genius. The school believes that each and everyone of students has different amounts of the 9 multiple intelligences.

I like this school because of its location. It's away from the main road (away from pollution), closer to nature; surrounded by trees and plants. It also has a big football field, which is a plus point for my son. Teachers are warm and welcoming, and they try their best to bring out the genius in every child. One of the highlights of this school is its annual concert. Students from early years right up to senior years are involved. The seniors work on props and sets with the guidance of their teachers. They get an opportunity to show their talent. I'm happy to have enrolled my son in this school.

After completing a year at Pelita, my kids still wake up every morning, happy and excited about school-and that amazes me. The teachers are nurturing, attentive, and insightful. They are genuinely invested in each child's success and do whatever they can to build on each kid's individual strengths. This is an incredibly inclusive school where everyone has the opportunity to participate in a wide array of activities and classes, from coding, to dance, to cooking and so much more. This school understands that education is so much more than pure academics. It's more than producing book-smart students; it's about nurturing each child to be the best versions of themselves.
