We believe the early years are a crucial stage in a child’s development that form the basis of Intelligence, personality, social behavior and lifelong learning. There are ‘sensitive periods’ during a child’s development and the experiences he/she had during this period establish the child's social and emotional competence, cognitive skills, literacy and numeracy skills, physical abilities and overall well-being in school and later life.
We provide specialize enrichment programs for children and quality management training programs for teacher and principal. It is important to teach our children to help others. As a global citizen, we have responsibilities to each other and to the Earth itself. Whether through sharing knowledge, volunteerism, advocacy or philanthropy, everyone can make a difference. PMCEF choose a variety of organizations to support and involve in their social services program. We want to let children understand generosity continues to be one of our most important initiatives. Children can join with families and our staff members in fundraising and other services opportunities.
We recognise global best practices in early years along with the local features in our Piccolo Monte Curriculum. Our holistic approach with a strong emphasis on creativity, life skills and character building development enable our students to enhance with their dreams to primary years and nurture a lifelong love for learning.
We follow the U.K. National Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our TEAM developed our school-based curriculum under the EYFS framework with elements of Key Stage 1. Our main goal is to ensure quality pedagogical practice consistency is followed and that the children and families experience high quality provision. Our Team have created our school-based Curriculum to offer a tri-lingual learning environment in English, Cantonese and Putonghua for our students. All languages are taught through full immersion with age-appropriate activities throughout the school year.
Child-initiated activities are encouraged and guided by our teachers based on the Vygotsky’s zone of proximal development theory of learning. Students are supported to develop problem-solving skills through open-ended tasks and opportunities to share their thinking with others. We aim to provide an attractive and challenging learning environment with lots of opportunities for students to learn through play, both indoor and outdoor. Students are supported to think creatively to explore how resources can be adapted. Adult led activities are practical in nature and based on first hand experiences wherever possible.
Our Lower Kindergarten class follows a holistic approach in teaching to enhance the overall abilities of our students. The curriculum focuses on phonics, reading, music and understanding of the world to encourage language development, vocabulary building, literacy skills and attention span. It is a critical stage for K2 students as most of the graduates will go to their first primary school interview. We provide interview training, presentation training, primary school allocation advisory services and parent workshops to enhance the chance of getting into your favorable primary school.
