Pitter Patter Early Learning Centre and Childcare

Pitter Patter is Cynthia’s intention to be a part of the growing changes in the early learning childhood education in Malaysia. Cynthia has always been passionate about working with children. Upon completing her Bachelors of Psychology, from Bemidji State University, MN, U.S, she continued on her optional practical training with Montessori Country Day School, Houston Texas where she acquired hands-on learning with infants and toddlers. She also received her Montessori Infant Toddler Training Cert in 2008.

In 2009, Cynthia continued to gain knowledge and experience working with children from, from Play Nest to Play Club to Nursery 1 and Nursery 2 at Julia Gabriel Kuala Lumpur. For the past 2 years, Cynthia has been managing The Curious Academy, an enrichment centre anchored by Glenn Doman's philosophy. She has been instrumental in working with the Hi-5 education facilitators in putting the Hi-5 House of Learning curriculum together.

With the experiences that she has gathered along the way, together with her passion to work with young children and families. She aims to be an example to others by standing strong in her values which is to provide a safe and caring childcare in Malaysia, starting with Pitter Patter using the Play Inquiry approach to learning.

Infants are brilliant observers and learners. Sensitive to the environment, infants try to make sense of the world with all their senses. With that, freedom of movement is what we prioritize for our infants. We also encourage their instinct to learn by providing age appropriate learning tools and toys.

Learning can be shallow or deep. Through play-inquiry, learning gets deeper where children are absorbed, fascinated and actively involved. We provide a platform for young children to have repeated opportunities to use materials and resources. This helps them to develop understanding of new concepts and ideas which is one of the most effective learning process for young children.

Children will be able to make connections and develop broad understanding of any topic. This becomes a powerful tool and instills a love for learning that can be applied to all subjects from Knowledge of the World to Math and Science and even Creative Arts!

As they grow older, these knowledge seekers are hungry for more information all the time. We share more details on interesting topics allowing them to immerse in inquiry learning. Child-led in a prepared environment, we encourage children to seek understanding a matter instead of memorizing. Putting information together and making sense of the information gathered is one way we can help form higher-order thinking skill.
