Labor Day, May Day or International Workers’ Day, is observed on May 1st in celebration of the achievements of the labour movement.
Constitution Day
Constitution Day is an annual observance on May 3rd in celebration of the proclamation and adoption of Poland’s first constitution which took place on May 3, 1791.
Whit Sunday
Whit Sunday, also referred to as Pentecost Sunday, is observed 50 days after Easter in celebration of the conclusion of the Easter period.
Corpus Christi
The Feast of Corpus Christi is celebrated on the second Sunday after Whit Sunday. Corpus Christi refers to the elements of the Eucharist and means the Body of Christ.
Assumption Day
Assumption of Mary is observed on August 15th in commemoration of the Virgin Mary’s assumption into heaven.
All Saints’ Day
All Saints’ Day is observed on November 1st in honour of all the Christian saints, especially those who lack a specific day on which they are honored. All Saints’ Day is also referred to as Solemnity of All Saints, Hallows’ Day, the Feast of Saints or Hallowmas.
Independence Day
Independence Day is observed on November 11th to mark the restoration of the state of Poland.
Christmas Day
Christmas Day is observed on December 25th in celebration of the nativity of Jesus, which occurred around the same time in 1 BC, based on the Gregorian calendar.
St. Stephen’s Day
St. Stephen’s Day, observed on December 26th, remembers the first Christian martyr in Western Christianity. This day is also known as Boxing Day or Second Day of Christmas.
