We are building a family at Prendergast Vale with academic excellence at the heart of everything we do.We are Prendergast Vale School, catering for both boys and girls of all ages from 3 to 16. Our aim is for every student who leaves this school at age 16 to be on the path to university leading to successful careers with good prospects. To make this happen, we ensure that the academic and social development of every student is at the heart of what we do.

Not only should students have well regarded qualifications when they leave school but they will also acquire character traits that will enable them to be successful in life. Traits such as optimism, resilience and confidence are developed throughout all subjects and through extra curricula activities. We are a very special community; as our school motto says ‘in perpetuum discimus’ - we are forever learning, and we hope that you will consider the possibility of your child continuing their learning in our family.

As a member of the Leatherseller's Federation of schools, we share a common set of goals and values. We are committed to providing an excellent academic education and personal support to all our students. This year, our student body have successfully captured our values in the following statement.

  • We Value learning
  • We strive to Achieve our full potential
  • We Lead by example and Excel in all lessons.

The Friends of Prendergast Vale (or FoPV for short) is the School's Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) which gives an opportunity for parents and carers to meet with senior school staff to ask questions and give feedback and to raise money to enhance student life.

As a parent or carer with a child at Prendergast Vale, you are automatically a member.Being a member of the Friends group is a great way of taking part in school life and meeting other parents. We run stalls at school events, including the Christmas Fair and the Summer Festival of Creativity, and we always need volunteers. So far, we have raised funds to donate leaving presents to all Year 6 children, help the Year 11s celebrate the end of their time at Vale, donate books to the school Library and paint the wall at the school's exit.

My son goes here and he enjoys the community aspect of the school and feels that he has positive and productive relationships with his teachers who support the students at this school tirelessly.

Deal well with bad people. They are working hard to ensure that students learning is not impacted by any low level behaviour.

I could not ask for a better school for my son. All his pastoral needs have been catered for and as an academic achiever, he has flourished with the support of excellent teachers and leadership. He enjoys the school and stays focussed thanks to the monitoring tools in place for both teachers and parents.
