The bursary is intended to assist full-time undergraduate students who have responsibility as primary carer for a dependant adult that will continue whilst they are studying. For students entering the University in 2020/21 the amount payable will be assessed based on individual circumstances, up to a maximum award of £1,500. Assessment of eligibility will be revisited in each year of your course that you wish to be considered for the bursary.
Application Process
There is no formal application process for this bursary. We will use the data provided to us when you complete your online enrolment. If you have indicated that you have responsibility as primary carer for a dependent adult, our Bursary & Scholarship Officer will contact you to advise of possible eligibility for the bursary.
You will need to complete an online form which is available via MyHub
If you did not tick the relevant box during online enrolment then you should contact the Bursary & Scholarship Officer, including the information detailed above, and they will ensure you are considered for the bursary.
Payment
Payment of any assessed bursary award will be made in two equal instalments directly in to your nominated bank account. Payment is made in late November and late February, on the basis that you remain enrolled on your course. It is your responsibility to advise us of any change to your bank details at least a fortnight ahead of any award payment date.

If you are in receipt of a Primary Carers Bursary you may be eligible to receive other scholarships, bursaries or discounts offered by the University. The University retains the right to vary these terms and conditions as it deems appropriate.
