Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City, Signs Strategic Partnership with King’s College Hospital London Dubai to Bolster Student Wellbeing

Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City, rooted in over 450 years of academic excellence, has announced a strategic partnership with King’s College Hospital London – Dubai prioritising student and staff health and wellbeing in the UAE.

The King’s College Hospital London – Dubai partnership will introduce a fully integrated healthcare and wellness framework at QE Dubai Sports City. Beyond clinical services, the partnership will also focus on proactive wellbeing initiatives, including preventative care, health education and early child-support.

As part of the partnership, King’s College Hospital London – Dubai will also provide day-to-day clinical management and governance of the school clinic, while offering a dedicated programme to support students, parents and staff wellbeing. This includes monthly wellness seminars focusing on key topics such as nutrition, physical fitness and disease prevention, termly parent seminars on child development and stress management, participation in school career days, and on-site health screenings and immunisations during key school moments such as open days and major events.

Caroline Pendleton-Nash, Chief Executive Officer of Queen Elizabeth’s Global Schools, said:

“For more than 450 years, Queen Elizabeth’s School has been guided by a deeply held belief that true excellence is built through consistency, care and the highest standards. As we bring this legacy to Dubai Sports City, our commitment extends far beyond academic achievement to the holistic wellbeing of every student and family we serve.

In the UAE Year of the Family, and in alignment with the nation’s wider wellbeing agendas, this partnership reflects our shared ambition to place health, balance and family support at the heart of daily school life. Through our collaboration with King’s College Hospital London – Dubai, wellbeing becomes an integrated, visible and lived experience, ensuring our students are supported to flourish as confident, able and responsible young people, both in and beyond the classroom.”

Embedded across everyday school life, King’s College Hospital London – Dubai will support student wellbeing during sports days, cultural celebrations and major school events through on-site first aid provision, alongside occupational health services for staff. Specialist dietitians and nutrition consultants will work closely with the QE Dubai Sports City food and beverage team to promote informed choices and the development of lifelong healthy habits.

The strategic partnership underscores QE Dubai Sports City’s commitment to student and community wellbeing, playing an active role in supporting the UAE National Wellbeing Strategy 2031 and the UAE Year of the Family initiatives. Rooted in the world-class National Curriculum for England, the school’s approach is academically rigorous and values-driven, supported by strong pastoral care and purposeful enrichment. Wellbeing is woven through daily school life via Personal Development Time, the QE House programme, student leadership opportunities and an active student voice, supporting each child’s emotional, physical and social development. This forms an important part of how the school supports the development of confident, able and responsible young people, embedding wellbeing, character and family-centred values into learning outcomes and daily provision.

Families at QE Dubai Sports City can also benefit from access to concierge services as well as a network of specialist services, including speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, reinforcing a joined-up approach to wellbeing that supports students, staff and families across every stage of their journey.

Kimberley Pierce, Chief Executive Officer of King’s College Hospital London – Dubai, commented:

“Schools play a defining role in shaping not only academic outcomes, but the long-term health, confidence and resilience of young people. Through this partnership with Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City, we are embedding healthcare and wellbeing directly into everyday school life, supporting students, families and staff in a practical and meaningful way. By combining day-to-day clinical support with preventative education and early intervention, our focus is on helping children thrive physically, emotionally and socially, with the reassurance of the same standards of care families expect from King’s College Hospital London in Dubai.”

As demand grows across the UAE for schools that prioritise both academic rigour and wellbeing, the partnership establishes an innovative education model that seamlessly integrates learning outcomes with community wellbeing.
