You will want the school to provide your child with opportunities to develop socially and academically in an environment which is challenging, caring and supportive. Raine’s Foundation school is able to offer these opportunities.

Raine’s offers something different. We are a smaller than average secondary school. This means pupils are recognised as individuals which enables support to be tailored to their needs. Raine’s Foundation Church of England Secondary School is an all ability co-educational school for girls and boys aged 11-19. The School is rightly proud of its long tradition of achievement within a Christian ethos and welcomes pupils from all faiths and those with none. We are a local school for local children. We have recently changed our admissions policy and we welcome all members of our community and no supplementary form is now required.

Raine’s Foundation School is one of the oldest schools in London and has played an important role in the East End for nearly 300 years. Developing a sense of community is pivotal to the schools ethos, as we move further into the 21st century we are developing our community spirit to ensure Raine’s Foundation School is a school for local children, just as it was when the school was established in 1719.

We are an improving school as we strive towards our goal of ‘Achieving Excellence by Unlocking Potential’ Exam results, in all areas, are improving and we expect further improvements in 2018. Our aim at Raine’s is to ensure that all our pupils can be the best they can be, every day, ensuring they achieve their potential in all aspects of life.

Today Raine's is a thriving multi-cultural school, which still adheres to traditional values of hard work, good conduct, loyalty and high standards of dress and appearance. The school encourages both staff and students to challenge their own personal best in all areas of endeavour: academically, socially and spiritually. To help us achieve this the school is committed to an extensive range of activities beyond the formal curriculum, which enable our students to grow and develop in many ways.

At Raine’s Foundation Church Of England School we welcome everybody into our community. We believe every child should be provided with the opportunity to achieve his or her full potential. Every student at Raine’s Foundation has the opportunity to follow all National Curriculum subjects as well as following an appropriate curriculum pathway. We are committed to narrowing the attainment gap between SEND and non-SEND students. This may include after school interventions, short-term intervention learning programmes off site provision, home-school intervention learning programmes or other learning interventions developed on an individual needs basis.

Achieving Excellence by Unlocking Potential At Raine’s Foundation School we believe in:

  • Providing a caring school community based on morals and values that safeguards the welfare of all.
  • Providing high quality teaching and learning to enable all children to maximise their potential.
  • Creating a stimulating, rich and engaging curriculum tailored to meet the needs of the individual.
  • Creating a successful partnership with parents, carers, and the local community.
  • Encouraging students to participate in decisionmaking enabling them to become responsible, compassionate and empathetic.
  • Supporting students’personal development through their journey to higher education and employment.

Enrichment is a fundamental element in terms of learning and teaching at Raine’s Foundation School. Importantly, it also forms the foundation of student experience beyond the classroom. We recognise the importance of offering a meaningful, exciting and innovative enrichment programme; which both motivates and promotes independence and resilience in our young people. We believe our enrichment opportunities allow our students to appreciate and respect other people; both on a local and global level. We aim to create a platform for students to develop and enhance their skills and attributes for the future.

I have two boys at the Raine’s Foundation School. Both are learning well and achieving high expectations.

This School is a great school. You have a great support network around you, all teachers and support staff will dedicate their spare time in developing and progressing students. I attended Raines for 7 years and I had some of the best memories of my life at Raines. The opportunities Raines gave me during my time there has enabled me to the person I am today. To summarise this school is brilliant and if you are looking for a secondary school or sixth form for you son or daughter Raines is the place to go...

A good school which my daughter enjoyed attending. She loved the Maths department and Mr Finn! Thanks for everything.

Raines Foundation helped make me into the person I am today, I don't know where I would be without the help and guidance from my friends and teachers from Raines. They helped me achieve things I never thought were possible, from winning national titles in basketball, to playing abroad representing the country. My teachers pushed me in all my classes and guidance was there when and if I needed it. It's a very good school and those who attend should be proud to represent the school.

Raine's Foundation School was the best experience of my life so far! Spent 7 years at this wonderful school and it taught me so many useful things. I was never good at Maths leaving primary school but as soon as I started Raine's they helped tutor me and I eventually left the school with GCSE in that subject. I would also like to mention the Sports Department which was ran by Mr D. Patten. He helped me succeed in Football and boost my confidence to the point where I went and joined a Football Team.

Unfortunately i had a fall on approach road and i am recovery well. I would just like to thank the students and the staff from the school who helped me. The three school girls who cared for me and raised help, were lovely and a credit to the school. It was amazing to meet such caring, polite and mature young people. The staff were also amazing and went beyond the call of duty to reassuring my worried husband. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten
