Ramadan is a time for reflection and charity. It is good practice to give back to the less fortunate. During the holy month, there are a lot of people donating Iftars, clothes, money, and other basic necessities to those in need. It is common practice in the UAE to give Iftar meals. These meals are usually given at mosques and other public places. A lot of private and public organizations give away meal boxes with dates and water just before Iftar time.

In the UAE, there are a lot of government organizations which organize charitable events and programs during Ramadan. Everyone can get involved in giving back during Ramadan, not just those who observe the holy month. Here are some charities you can get involved with:

1. Red Crescent Authority Charity (RCA)

Every year, RCA runs a charity campaign. They give away free Iftar meals, Zakat Al Fitr, and clothing for families in the UAE and other countries. If you wish to donate, you can find Red Crescent Society counters in malls, mosques, and hospitals.

Most organizations set up tents in supermarkets to receive donations during Ramadan. However, take note that raising funds for a certain cause is illegal unless approved by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments or the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department. After getting the appropriate approvals, you can raise funds in collaboration with a licensed charity organization.
