For the first time in Dubai, the exhibition “Royal Lineage Across a Thousand Years of History” has opened at the school gallery of BC Academy, marking a unique moment where fine art, education, and cultural dialogue come together within a school environment.

The exhibition opened with the personal participation of Prince Nikita Lobanov-Rostovsky, who visited Dubai together with his wife, Princess June Lobanov-Rostovsky. During their visit, they toured the school, met with the BC Academy community, and engaged in an inspiring dialogue with students, parents, educators, and invited guests.

Prince Nikita Dmitrievich Lobanov-Rostovsky is a descendant of the ancient Rurikid dynasty. He is a distinguished collector, philanthropist, geologist, financier, and writer — a man of rare destiny and exceptional inner strength. In his youth, he was a junior breaststroke swimming champion of Bulgaria, an early reflection of the discipline and resilience that have shaped his remarkable life and enduring commitment to culture and the arts.

A graduate of the University of Oxford, Prince Nikita built an international career in geology and finance, while simultaneously dedicating his life to the preservation and study of art. He is internationally recognised for his unique collection, focusing on historical periods defined by innovation, bold ideas, and cultural transformation.

As a meaningful cultural gesture, Prince Nikita Lobanov-Rostovsky gifted the school a number of artworks depicting views of old London, enriching the school’s permanent collection and leaving a lasting artistic legacy for future generations.

The exhibition was officially opened by Abdulla Saleh, Deputy Minister of Economy of the UAE. The opening was also attended by representatives of Art Dubai.

BC Academy hopes that exhibitions of this kind will continue to inspire new ideas, broaden cultural horizons, and encourage students to see art not only as history, but as a living force that shapes the future.
