All the schools in Greece share the same school calendar provided by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs. However, the holiday dates for public schools and private schools may slightly differ with up to two extra days in the academic year. New Year’s Day
This day is observed on January 1st in the Gregorian calendar and marks the beginning of the new year.

Epiphany
Epiphany also referred to as Three Kings Day, is observed on January 6th in celebration of the presentation of Jesus to the wise men.

Independence Day
This day marks Greece’s independence together with the feast of Annunciation and is observed on March 25th. The Feast of Annunciation commemorates Angel Gabriel announcement to Mary that she would conceive and give birth to the son of God, Jesus.
