School holidays in the Netherlands differ according to three regional areas. These regions include the North region, South region, and the middle region.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science sets all the dates for the major school holidays and provides advisory dates for spring and autumn holidays. Christmas Day
Christmas day is observed on December 25th in commemoration of the Nativity of Jesus, which took place on the same date 1 BC.

St. Stephen’s Day
St. Stephen’s Day is the second day of Christmas and is also known as Boxing Day. St. Stephen’s Day is celebrated on December 26th in Western Christianity to mark the Feast of St. Stephen who was the first Christian martyr.
