Seeh Phinong International Kindergarten

Welcome to SP International Kindergarten. We are a community based preschool and day care centre, based in a quiet and leafy green soi in Thong Lor. At SP we provide:

• Day care services (ages 1-4 years old)
• Part time schooling (ages 18 months - 3 years old)
• Full-time schooling (18 months to 6 years old)

We are a well-established kindergarten of over 40 years providing early childhood education to the local and expat community. Using a blend of the British EYFS, National Curriculum of England and the American Creative Curriculum, we provide a mixture of fun, creative, physical, educational and Montessori inspired activities and lessons for our children to build on their emotional, social and cognitive development.

Our aim is to help our students grow into confident, bright and inquisitive children, who are happy to take on new challenges and adventures. Their steps at SP will prepare them for the next step in their educational journey.

SP believes that

• Each child is unique and deserves opportunities to make choices, to develop independence, and to receive reinforcement when successful.
• A nurturing environment is essential for a child to feel safe, explore, and be challenged to develop to their optimum potential.
• All teaching staff should be role models for children and should plan learning activities appropriate for each age level.
• Parents are the most significant adults in a child’s life and should be included as partners in planning growth and development while at school.

At SP we welcome children between the ages of 18 months to 6 years old. Preschool is a crucial time in a child’s early development. During these early years we aim to help your children grow in confidence emotionally, socially, cognitively as well as physically, to prepare them for their education later on in their childhood.

Our Bunny Class is for children between 18 months to two years. It is part of our Nursery and often joins our Rabbit classes in numerous activities such as PE and Outdoor Play. The Bunny children will begin their introduction to English language learning through nursery rhymes and creative play.

Our Rabbit class is for children between 2 - 3 years old. The Rabbit classes focus on learning through play. We start teaching pre-writing and pre-math at this level through fun games, art classes and music. We aim to give the students a solid foundation upon which they can build their academic knowledge. The Rabbits also spend much of their day developing their independence skills.

The Bluebirds are our K1 class. The children are between 3 - 4 years old. Students begin to learn how to read and write at this level. We also introduce simple maths concepts through fun games and activities to the children, building on the educational foundation established during their time in the Rabbit class. The Bluebirds continue to work on their language and social skills during their ample play time!

The Kangaroos are our K2 level. The children are 4 - 5 years old in this class. During their time as a Kangaroo, the students build up their reading and writing skills. They start to follow the British maths curriculum formally, preparing them for K3 and primary school. Kangaroos also begin music classes, learning how to play the melody horn and iPad learning classes, which can help with phonics, maths and creative skills. Play based learning is still very much a priority for our Kangaroo children.

The Giraffe class is for students between 5 - 6 years old, which is the same as Key Stage 1 in international primary education. The Giraffes continue with their academic studies, developing their reading, writing, maths, technology and music skills, as well as continuing to learn through play and creative/Montessori inspired activities. By the end of the year our Giraffes are ready to hit the big wide world of primary school.
