The Rose Parker Scholarship will provide one scholarship of $2,000, for one year, to a student who has spent time in out-of-home care. The Scholarship is open to undergraduate students of all disciplines, but preference will be given to students undertaking a course offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences or Curtin Medical School.
Care leavers are acutely underrepresented in higher education, with only 1% of care leavers accessing university education. The Rose Parker Scholarship aims to provide assistance and encouragement to these students, so that they can achieve a transformative education.
