Love is the foundation which Shanghai Singapore International School (SSIS) is built upon. We take pride in offering a unique curriculum pathway that integrates world-renowned educational programmes from kindergarten to high school diploma (K-12). With a forward-looking approach, our curriculum places emphasis on fostering innovation, critical thinking skills and character-building.

Our philosophy, vision, and mission is to educate students in an environment that will not only equip them with a high level of content skills and information, but also help them to learn the behaviours associated with global citizenry and the concept of being humanitarians and caring individuals.

Founded and invested by the Prime Group International. With the official approval from the Ministry of Education, PRC, Shanghai Singapore International School (SSIS) was officially opened on 3rd September 1996. SSIS provides a continuous K-12 academic journey to expatriate children from two to 18 years old in Shanghai.

Our curriculum draws from world-recognised international programmes which include the Singapore Curriculum, IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. These are weaved into a powerful bilingual education model – truly one-of-its-kind in China. We focus on inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving in a rigorous learning environment. This prepares SSIS students for the challenges of the modern integrated world. At SSIS, we offer a truly international education in a communal environment, where students strive to excel in many different areas.

Shanghai Singapore International School offers a balanced and holistic education that not only prepares our students academically but also in extra-curricular activities, of which there are many to choose. Our Primary School Programme ensures that our students are given the necessary grounding in academics, and are equipped with the life skills needed in today’s fast-changing global economy.

In the Primary School, we place great importance on ensuring the well-being of our students with a balance of nurturing academic excellence and holistic development. Our Primary School offers a truly international curriculum that draws from the best curricula in the world including the Singapore Math and Science, and Cambridge Primary English. We ensure that our students are given the necessary grounding in academics, and are equipped with the 21^st century skills.

We aim to expose our students to a wide variety of educational experiences through interdisciplinary learning in STEAM, Physical Education, Farm to School Project, Art, Drama, Dance, Music and Co-Curricular Activities. These experiences will allow them to develop interests and secure foundations for advanced learning.
