Shenzhen Foreign Languages GBA Academy

Shenzhen Foreign Languages Greater Bay Area Academy (SGA) has been initially invested in, and established by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, and is managed by Shenzhen Foreign Languages School. As a pilot programme approved by Ministry of Education, at SGA, we provide the integrated curriculum of CNC standards and IB framework to our students, which includes both expatriate and Chinese children. SGA develops internationally-minded innovators with a strong grounding in Chinese culture.

 SGA is a multi-integrated school approved by the National Ministry of Education, chartered by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, led by the Shenzhen Education Bureau and managed by Shenzhen Foreign Languages School (Group). We are the first pioneering model school in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. SGA develops internationally-minded innovators with a strong grounding in Chinese culture.

As an experimental base for basic education curriculum reform authorized by the National Ministry of Education, SGA is at the forefront of basic education in terms of school mechanism, curriculum, team building and school management, implementing an optimized and efficient curriculum system that integrates the national curriculum and the international curriculum. The school is characterized by its 'Diversified Integration, Individualized Teaching', and its small class and elite teaching mode. The campus is designed according to the future school concept to create a multi-faceted learning and living environment.

SGA plans to become an IB continuing program school. Its primary year program and secondary program have already been authorized. We are seeking authorization of DP program in the future.

SGA recruits teachers who graduated from top-tier universities around the world. They have strong attachments to China, understand the essence of Chinese and Western cultures, and have international mindedness. The faculty is made up of 60% Chinese teachers and 40% expatriate teachers. The Chinese faculty are all master’s degree holders or above, graduates from famous universities around the world. All our expatriate teachers have extensive experience in international IB teaching and IB certification, holding a master’s degree or above. They are all qualified teachers in their original country and have rich experience in international education. They all have high international awareness and global perspectives.

The school is designed according to the concept of a school of the future, blending the essence of Chinese and Western cultures, promoting the transformation of education methods and learning spaces, and creating a pluralistic and integrated learning and living place. The campus is built in a European style, surrounded by a lake on three sides, with beautiful views and a peaceful and tranquil environment for education and teaching. The school's facilities are first-class in terms of their technological content, the closeness to the school's philosophy and teaching activities, the humanistic care of teachers and students, and the aesthetic standard of the school building.
