Sibling Stars Become Nike MENA Football Athletes

Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai (RGSGD) celebrates the outstanding sporting achievements of two of its most talented pupils, Zayn Ali Salman and his sister Zahra Salman, who are both making waves in the world of football at remarkably young ages. With bright futures ahead, the school continues to champion their dreams through personalised academic timetables, tailored coaching, and unwavering support.

Zayn Ali Salman – Youngest Member of Nike Family

Nine-year-old Zayn Ali Salman has already achieved what many can only dream of. First scouted by Arsenal at the young age of four to join the club’s academy, Zayn’s passion and dedication to the game have only grown stronger.

At the age of eight Zayn signed a three-year contract with Nike to become the youngest member of the Nike family, marking a major milestone in his budding career. He regularly features on popular football YouTube channels such as SV2 and recently filmed with global entertainer KSI in London. Zayn participates regularly in elite European tournaments playing against the best talent of Europe and also trains with the shadow squad of Arsenal, further honing his skills alongside some of the best young players in the UK.

In Dubai, Zayn plays for Cognita Enrich ME, inspiring other young athletes to follow their passion for football, while RGS Guildford Dubai ensures he receives full academic support through a personalised timetable, allowing him to balance his studies and sporting ambitions seamlessly.

Sibling Stars Become Nike MENA Football Athletes

“Football is everything to me,” said Zayn Ali Salman. “I want to keep working hard every day so that one day I can play professionally. My school helps me stay focused on both football and learning – it means a lot.”

Zahra Salman – Flying the Flag for Women’s Football

At just twelve years old, Zahra Salman has also made a name for herself as a talented and determined footballer. Alongside her brother, she has recently been signed to Nike as MENA Football Athlete and has also been called up by the U15 Iraqi team to play on the international stage as well as then UAE national team. Zahra stands out as one of the youngest players in her age group, and trains with the Under-15 boys Cognita Enrich ME team. Known for her blistering pace and skill as a left-wing midfielder, she’s equally comfortable training — and winning — alongside older boys.

Zahra’s achievements go beyond the pitch. Whilst in London she was scouted by Chelsea FC and other London football clubs. Recently she was awarded Cognita Enrich ME’s Sports Personality of the Year and named a RGSGD Girls’ Sports Ambassador for her leadership and commitment to encouraging other young girls to play football.

“I love proving that girls can play just as well as boys,” said Zahra Salman. “Playing for the UAE is such an honour, and I want to keep improving. My school’s support helps me manage training, travel, and my studies – it really makes a difference.”

Supporting Dreams, Building Futures

RGS Guildford Dubai takes immense pride in creating an environment where talent can flourish both on and off the pitch. Through bespoke timetables, one-to-one mentorship, and open collaboration with families and clubs, the school ensures that pupils like Zayn and Zahra are able to pursue their sporting dreams without compromising their education.

“Zayn and Zahra embody the spirit of excellence and perseverance that we value so highly at the school,” said Matthew Pearce, Principal of RGS Guildford Dubai. “We are proud to support them as they continue to inspire their peers and represent our community, both in Dubai and beyond.”

With such talent, discipline, and determination, the Salman siblings are shining examples of what can be achieved with passion, hard work, and the right support. RGS Guildford Dubai looks forward to following their journey as they continue to make their mark in the world of football.
