The academic structure of SUTD is designed to support a curriculum that develops technically-grounded leaders who will contribute to society through technology and design. Our graduate programmes move beyond traditional education boundaries and emphasise a multi-disciplinary focus - design, innovation and entrepreneurship are seemlessly integrated into the curriculum.
We offer degrees in four pillars (core areas of specialisation), which are developed to offer a modern engineering and architecture education that crosses traditional disciplines. Environmental changes, rapid urbanisation and constraints on the world's resources are challenges faced by the modern architect. The ASD pillar focuses on the future needs of architecture in a digital era. EPD focuses on the conception, design, implementation and operation of innovative technology-intensive products, with emphasis on products and systems whose development cuts across traditional discipinary boundaries. ISTD integrates the traditional disciplines of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Information Systems - focusing on the design of systems that interact with both humans and machines.
We view the domain of technology and design as an emerging force rather than an established practice. These fields offer enormous intellectual, economic and social opportunities as well as an unrivalled edge to impact and lead in Singapore, the region and beyond.

An autonomous university that is focused on technology and all elements of technology-based design in Singapore, SUTD aims to develop students that are future-ready and beneficial for the society’s prosperity and well-being. SUTD has recently ended its 7 years of educational collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Despite that, its SUTD–MIT International Design Centre continues to exist and support ongoing research collaborations between SUTD and MIT. Its campus, located in Upper Changi, is one-of-a-kind!

Beautiful campus! Visited this place because Hope Church Singapore had a laser tag event at their Sports Hall 2. Very green campus with lots of trees, much like my alma mater NTU. Toilets at the sports hall were clean as well and facilities were well kept. Hope to be back here again someday …

A nice, modern university catering to Singapore's current and future needs. It is conveniently located to the nearby Upper Changi MRT station and the Changi City Point shopping mall which is not far away. I have always liked design but unfortunately during my time, there were no courses related to design thinking other than architecture. Otherwise, I would not have wasted my time studying engineering at NUS.

I had the best undergraduate life I could possibly have here with a good mix of learning, growing, and, socialising. The fabrication lab here is better than MIT as visited both places. The amount of resources you get is above when compared to an average undergraduate degree. The lessons gained beyond the textbooks will last me a lifetime. Unfortunately food is not the best, we need to solve that. If you are an aspiring talented food vendor, please start up in SUTD, the students would be eternally grateful.

SUTD's campus is a marvel of architecture, and is aesthetically pleasing from all angles. The canteen there had nice food ranging from mixed rice to western. From my knowledge, the university offers dedicated tracks with double specialisations which contrasts with the usual degrees which is stuck to a particular specialisation.

Loved this place, with lots of bright people and friendly professors. SUTD is very fresh and fun, and will be very convenient when the new Upper Changi station opens at the end of the month. It was my top university choices when I applied in back then.
