Our school was first established at a site in Sai Ying Poon through the generosity of the Kadoorie Family in 1890's. The Hong Kong Government assumed the school management in 1916 and the school later moved to its old site at Eastern Hospital Road. For many years, it was operated as a primary school until the 1960's with the introduction of the secondary classes. It has remained a government co-educational secondary school ever since. At the beginning of the new millennium, the school has moved into its present site, a new and very well facilitated school building with the latest modern design, progressing onwards with strength and vitality into new era ahead.
Appreciating the cultural diversity of the students and reflecting on the changing demands of the modern world, the school aims at the holistic development of all students in order to enable them to become lifelong learners, and valuable members of the local and global community.
The school endeavors to foster whole-person development of students and to excel their potential through organizing a great variety of activities and programmes. First and foremost, we cultivate them with positive values such as love and concern, respect, and sense of commitment, and so forth, so that they can withstand challenges ahead. We assist them to do their life planning and make informed choices in their career development. Strengthening students' commitment to do service to humanity is also one of our main concerns. We promote a positive attitude of students to serve other people or communities in need, and their home countries as well.

I study here in Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School ,and I cannot express enough on how awesome this school is compared to most local schools in Hong Kong. This school is a multiracial and multicultural school. Which means people from every country attends this school. The teachers are caring and they have passions in teaching the students well. The students here are talented in their own ways and they're cool to hang with.
