At South University, we don’t want anything to get in the way of your professional growth. In addition to financial aid, we offer several scholarships to qualifying students. Campus leadership and scholarship committees on each of our campuses work with The Education Foundation to award scholarships. If you’re interested in applying for a scholarship, please be aware of all eligibility requirements and deadlines provided by South University campus leadership and scholarship committees. The Education Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt foundation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Education Foundation was created to provide research and direct services, and to offer scholarships to advance education. While providing scholarships to many students who have tuition expenses at a variety of schools, The Education Foundation is supported solely by independent contributions and sponsors from numerous individuals and corporations.

South University provides a need-based Institutional Grant to students who demonstrate financial need and are attending as full-time undergraduate students. Our Institutional Grant may help reduce your college tuition costs. The South University Institutional Grant can only be used to cover direct costs of the student’s education, does not carry a cash value, and cannot be used to issue a stipend. Students must have a direct cost financial need to receive the funds. Loan and other aid amounts will not be reduced to accommodate the fully approved need-based award. Students can work with their Financial Aid Office to discuss eligibility.

South University’s range of online degree programs allows you to pursue your education on your terms. Haven’t experienced online learning before or wondering what it’s like to earn your degree online at South University? While the mode of learning is different from the traditional classroom experience with added convenience and flexibility, we hold the same high standards of academic excellence in the online classroom. In addition, the online classroom is accessible on the go via mobile devices and with tools like the Pulse App. Pulse helps you stay connected and on track with your course by providing a number of features such as course calendars, readings and assignments, feedback and grades and announcements.

Student interaction is an important part of the overall online learning experience. Peers offer both educational and emotional support, which can contribute to your overall success. South University’s history began in Savannah, Georgia in 1899 with the establishment of Draughon’s Practical Business College. Founded by Dr. John Draughon, the institution focused on teaching the fundamentals needed by successful businesses including accounting, banking, shorthand, bookkeeping and typewriting. Originally located in the Masonic Lodge building on the corner of Savannah’s Liberty and Whitaker Streets, the College was moved several times to accommodate growing enrollment before settling into the Atlantic Mutual Building.
