SPIS promotes an active learning environment, inside and outside the classroom, which encourages the development of innovative and critical mind, that empowers our students to freely express their ideas, to orientate their actions towards clear goals, and to work effectively with others in a Plural, Global and Interactive World.
Indeed, my tenure in the Hong Kong Police Force gave me the opportunity to see the problems that our youths were facing and the qualities that many of this younger generation seemed to lack. It also inspired me to look at the root of what’s wrong with education in Hong Kong. The problem does not merely stem from the education system in Hong Kong. Parental values and the thriving of keen competition in our society were also contributing factors.
Founded on the basis of love and giving, SPIS is committed to the well-being and holistic development of our students as the top priority. The school aims to provide the highest calibre education in traditional areas of academia and the arts whilst embracing broader life facets that include nature, sportsmanship, community spirit and morality, all of which cultivate students’ independent thinking, visions, values and life purpose.
